Overwatch

I can’t believe she’s not even been placed in the PTR yet she’s already getting hate for simply being a white woman who happens to have personally known McCree.

The “we deserve a black woman character instead of one who connects to the lore!” isn’t new either, it’s been around since Brigitte was released and I’m sure it didn’t go away when Hammond was also released. If you want a black woman this badly, make an OC. Too bad the brownie points characters they do make are bad as a Saturday morning token characters who do nothing but say “see, I’m black/gay/Muslim/disabled but I’m just as cool!” when they do sometbkng.

Also, I’ve seen some McHanzo fangirls shit themselves terrified because they think Ashe “gets in the way” of their gay biracial representation and are screaming about how white woman are always paired with POC. Reminds me of the whole Seychelles debacle back in 2013 where all the Hetalia fujoshis were getting their panties in a pretzel over a female character getting in the way of their hawt FrUk/UsUk yaoiz xDDD, just painted to look like armchair activism.
 
The funny thing too is that in the short, McCree seems entirely uninterested in Ashe in the present day. Perhaps they had a thing in the past, but it seems to have gone by the time of the video. So it doesn't ruin your fucking gays. So long as you admit that bisexxuals exist. Which they don't want to because the dreaded WOMAN may have TAINTED him.

I only really care about one ash, so I won't think twice about the overwatch version, but how could we go from this?

This is one of the reasons why I don't play Overwatch anymore; the community is full of dangerhairs and limp-wristed nancy boys who care more about MUH HEADCANONZ than actual gameplay or balance.

I strongly prefer TF2, where the argument of Pyro's gender is as far as the autism rabbit hole goes.

Apparently Ashe is now available on the PTR, so downloading the test build to see if I suck at her or not
 
Bob is Ashe's ult. My gut feeling is he will be nerfed pretty hard soon.

Overall Ashe plays rather like DPSing with Ana. The rifle is accurate both from the hip and sighted in. The dynamite tosses like Ana's heal grenade but on a timer . The coach gun if pointed down gives a decent jump .

Reloads are slow, one cartridge at a time, but interruptible. You don't want to run out of ammo so a manual reload when you have a moment is always a good idea.

I won't be able to play her worth a damn with my Old Man Reflexes, but "Rule 63 McCree" isn't a terrible way to describe her - she's a sort of mid-range hitscan combat sniper, like McCree.

Right now Bob is a pretty short-duration ult, it remains to be seen how effective he will be in the long run, but when he spawns he does a Reinhardt-like charge, too, which might be a bit overkill.

So they're basically lifting TF2 Scout mechanics? I guess there's not reason to stop going to the same well...

After seeing gameplay I see a mixture of what people are talking about. the shotgun she has is almost like a double jump on cool down while her rifle allows her some accuracy much like Lian from Paladins but more appropriately Mecree. I can see this not going over too well for fans of the cowboy because she does his mid range hitscan sniper thing better than him.

Its hard to imagine what McCree can do that Ashe can't do better. Her one big weakness is that's her dynamite is tough to hit at a distance, especially on console. I wouldn't be surprised if McCree was buffed in the next balance patch. Something as simple as decreasing the kickback of his shots by like 10-25% would do a lot to close the gap.
 
Off the top of my head, Ashe's only real weakness compared to McCree is that her hip-fired damage is penalized; to get the same damage McCree has, she has to be aiming.
