Good thing I've got all their albums on CD, right?

Right?

*hurriedly orders Dark Saga, Burnt Offerings, and The Glorious Burden from wherever has them*

No, download the flac version you big silly.
Done. Found a distro that has FLAC of Burnt Offerings.

Actually, speaking of streamed audio quality, what is it with streaming services' fetish for 128kbps MP3. It sounds shitty and full of compression when access to high speed internet and large hard drives is enough for FLAC.

People think you can't hear it, but you can. It sounds strained. Try singing while trying to take a shit as compared to singing normally. Unfortunately modern mainstream music is all brickwalled and strident in tone with little dynamics baked into it anyhow, so nobody notices.

Want to know why vinyl sounds better? Because vinyls are properly mixed. You can't do a full brickwall loudness-war mix on vinyl or the groove walls would collapse. So you have to record and mix them properly. If only digital releases were properly mixed as well.

Oh god I wish I could find downloads for old albums that I bought and lost. I still hate Apple for iTunes fucking up and deleting an album I bought and it wouldn't let me download it again, this was on the iPhone 1. Contacted customer service and they were like "nope, user did wrong", how?, "we don't know"

This is why piracy is important. I would like to pirate a lot of the old music that I bought over the years.
