Ozark - Jason Bateman can direct and act dramatically, who knew.

Plus you have Ron Pearlman and he's constantly touching people so you have to keep asking yourself if his hands are drenched in piss when he does that. Very distracting.

Watched this recently. If you follow Republican "conspiracy theories" then this whole show can be interpreted as an attempt to rehabilitate the Clintons' reputation among those who believe in the Clinton Body Count by making Clinton analogues the protagonists of a show that mirrors them.

There's the show's setting, which is set in the South, but not the DEEP south, whereas the Clintons got their start in politics in Arkansas, which has the southern part of the Ozarks.

Marty Bird is obviously a stand-in for Bill Clinton, who is said to have helped Barry Seal traffic cocaine into Arkansas by blocking any investigation into his activities.

Wendy Bird is obviously a stand-in for Hillary Clinton, an overeducated, hyper-ambitious blonde middle aged woman who makes all the real decisions and is a stone-cold psychopath who orders hits on people. Also, Hillary Clinton was born in Chicago, and the Birds are Chicago transplants.

Basically, this show is saying, "Yes, everything you might believe about the Clintons is probably true, but that's what it takes to get ahead in this world."
