Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

Bloomberg's story on Palworld quoted a couple lawyers about the "lawsuit" garbage Consoom Commies are throwing around

Brandon Huffman, founding attorney at Odin Law & Media, said Pocketpair has little to worry about. In the past, he said, there was some reputational risk when a game company took inspiration from a past hit, but today, especially with survival and battle royale games, there is a strong precedent for adopting colleagues’ ideas.
Huffman’s colleague and fellow attorney Connor Richards, who played 10 hours of Palworld over the weekend, said “most of the Pals don’t really look like Pokémon.” Several look like similar takes on generic animals, and the more complicated monsters, he said, aren’t exact copies.

“None of them give you the impression that they’re supposed to be the Pokémon,” Richards said

I feel like retards are seething because this entirely indie small dev team made a 'pokemon like' game with 0 of the resources afforded to any Pokemon game...and it's 1000% better.

Pokemon has a market...and their market grows up while wanting more. Gamefreak does nothing to keep courting the older market and actively gives them the middle finger which is fine. But Gamefreak is about to learn that it's biggest competitor being Digimon for the last 2 decades has made it complacent.

They aren't exactly courting the youngest generation either tbh. Talking to kids and younger cousins, the majority would say they only know pokemon from the anime, none of them have bought the games and the ones that did stopped playing an hour in. I'm in an asian country, so I remember throughout my entire childhood from preschool to middle school there was always a chunk of people playing pokemon at school so I was kinda surprised.

To get away from the metacommentary a bit, has anyone experimented with ranking up Pals with the condenser? It doesn't just increase their stats, but also the rank of their special ability. I mashed all of my chickens into a single uber chicken and it now lays two eggs at a time with every completed work cycle, with its "Egg Layer" ability being Lvl. 2.

Has anyone tried this with a mount? Since mounting is an ability, I wonder if it increases speed or stamina efficiency. I assume powering up attack abilities just makes them do more damage.

The stamina efficiency on fliers is very noticeable. But speed I haven't been able to notice.

I think Direhowl might be faster because its meme IS being the speedy mount, but I cant be sure.

SPEAKING of mounts. Movement speed passives and leader passives stack. I got a Fenglope with Swiftness and another Pal with Motivational Leader and that nigger is fast as fuck.

Mildly related, but the ability to have mounts attack while still being able to freely shift to your main weapon with aim mode is the coolest fucking shit. It works with breath skills too, dragon breath will just keep spewing while you switch to aim mode and fire your guns.

I did this with my Lucky Nitewing. It upgraded the pal skill to level 2, and I think it made him a bit faster, but I didn't run any time trials to really test for certain. It just felt a bit faster (and Nitewing already feels like the slowest flyer I've tried). I really wish that it listed movement speed alongside other stats like work speed. Some of the mounts you can ride (like Kingpaca or Moncherry(?)) are pretty slow, but I guess it's made up for by helping you carry more stuff and being pretty damn tough.

I definitely hope they add some kind of animation/cutscene to the condenser. I want them to go full black humor and have you sit there and watch all 4/16/whatever Pals get crammed into that tube and turned into Pal superserum. Hopefully it's like the grapple gun's sound/feedback and just on the to-do list.

I do really like how you can catch a Pal that might be utter shit at battling, but is a god damn beast at working on the base, and vice versa. Having those little extra personality stats is a great addition.

Also really like the Pals who’s special ability is essentially “lets you have two Pals out attacking at once”.

Also, to anyone actually in the thread because they're playing the game, to anyone who didn't make their base in an unreachable area, prepare yourselves before you hit level 32. Once you unlock the handgun, enemy raids will skyrocket in both power and frequency.

You can turn off raids but I dont entirely recommend that. Raids are the most efficient way to gather Pal souls.

See, I've turned them off for now to get the hang of things. I'll probably start a new save with them on when I get more confident.

I have to say, watching two little cats running around and helping with gathering is charming. Actually got me motivated to build a little house for them.

I like this too, but I wish each Pal had two separate work and combat abilities. Some Pals are clearly built for fighting and others for working, but it'd be nice if every Pal had something unique to bring to the table on both ends. (Lamball is a perfect example of this, serving as a shield and a source of wool.)

You can toggle them on and off from the main menu before starting your world, so you dont have to start a new save. Considering how so much of the game is designed around multiplayer coop, I'd say its justified to take it a little easy for solo lol.

I think the game looks cute. I'm a Pokefag who likes the newer games because I have no standards and I don't see what all the fuss is about. Even if some of the models are ripped from Pokemon, what's the big deal? They've been switched up enough that they're distinct from the original designs, it's been confirmed that no AI was used, and it's not like the games are similar at all in how they play. The only similarity gameplay-wise is that you collect monsters. That's it. Aside from the mons, it's just ARK.

That being said I do think that the designs of the pals and the visuals of pretty much everything else clash in a weird way. It's still kind of charming how out-of-place the pals look sometimes.

This game is fun not for it's gameplay but because of the drama. The plagiarism allegations war is the funniest right now. Watching people go from sucking hbomber dick's about internet historian to defending Crafttopia 1.5 or vice versa is hilarious. Best part is that this game is most likely going to just die like Craftopia did because the devs are the japanese verison of CodeHatch.

If the game does survive and does get fully finished I'll be happy for the nerds who like their cock fighting simulators.

I'm a big Pokefag and I genuinely don't understand the pure salt coming from the community about this game. I haven't played it yet, but I've been watching a friend play it and there's a ton I can see that I genuinely fucking wish I could see in an actual Pokémon game (Pals having more utility than 1 on 1 battles, a mount being for more than just transport ect). The seething is some top fucking kino though. It's a pokeclone that actually has something decent to offer instead of being pure dogshit, be mad at Gamefreak for being so incompetent that some nobodies can come in and do a better job, not the underdogs actually doing something cool.
I don't think too many Pokemon fans are seething right now, rather the same creatures that openly sucked GF's cock during SwSh/SV era over every single little thing and lost their shit when people laughed/criticized these games are now seething at Palworld. They are not fans, they are blind consoomers, and likely some sort of coomer/tranny/pedo/retard hybrid as well
Enjoy the game and enjoy the salt, I bet the devs love all the free publicity

It's like Hogwarts Legacy all over again. A very loud minority on social media threw a huge snit fit about a game, gave it tons of free publicity, and now it's incredibly popular and profitable. I guarantee a ton of people wouldn't have even heard of the game without these plagiarism accusations.

Has anyone's Pals caught the retard and attempt to carry shit to a chest but promptly drop it? it's been happening on both of my bases (my second is most noticeably affected by it) and it's annoying.

Aside from that I've been enjoying raiding Syndicate strongholds and doing some dungeons, I've also managed to catch some of the bosses that pop up in 'em and the overworld.
Most raids spawn unable to reach you if you build your base anywhere elevated. I'm building on the mountain with all the willow trees and nothing has spawned anywhere they can reach me.
I can confirm this, my first base near the original spawn point and I can cause the raid AI to go full retard, once I get that accessory that lets you use Tocotoco like a grenade launcher it'll be like shooting fish in a barrel.

That Digimon post was interesting. If they allowed you to merge with Digimon like season 3 and 4 they could make something id be interested in.
There was a manga series called Pokémon RéBURST, AFAIK it was a Japan-only release.

The current Steam Chart numbers for the game are wild (assuming this isn't a glitch).

Another popular game that was in the zeitgeist for a while when it came out, Hogwart's Legacy, by comparison had 270,000 players on launch.

I've seen it happen when a Pal gets stuck (like my Incineram getting accidentally tossed onto the roof and then spamming picking up and dropping wood.) Transporting in general seems finicky in how it sometimes breaks for no apparent reason.
My next base is definitely getting two-high walls. The taller/bipedal Pals seem to really hate one-level high rooms, especially if you're picking them up and throwing them to give them assignments.
My wishlist for the game is some kind of baton/whistle/whatever that lets you point it at a Pal, point it at a work spot, and give the order without having to run up and mash F.

For some reason it seems like they try and deposit things into the back of a chest. If you have your storage up against a wall, that's probably why. Make sure it's spacious otherwise they have weird pathing issues that make them drop things to try and cancel their work.
