They basically turn into moving one item into your inventory once you have automated food farming set up.
That happens very early too, so i would not worry about that. Its not the type of game where you constantly have to farm stuff to fill some stupid meter.

I struggle to think of when Nintendo went edgy. Metroid Prime, Starfox Assault, Fire Emblem, Advanced Wars 2, and F-Zero GX maybe? They seemed pretty successful to me, though they were never adult or edgy, they were darker in tone than their usual fare. Even Mario Strikers of the Wii had Nintendo characters angry and aggressive. The only other game I can think of is Project Hammer, which Nintendo cancelled before release.

I don't know about modding, but there are world setting that reduce the grind considerably. eg. Increasing the drop rates from scavenging.

Though there is a materials grind when it comes to collecting ores that either can't be automated, or I haven't found how to automate it yet.

The funniest part is how the actual gameplay is almost nothing like Pokémon to boot outside of maybe the catching part since you throw a ball at them after weakening them. Meanwhile the designs are just distinct enough that it’s probably legal while still clearly aping the Pokémon aesthetic. Madlad devs are playing the law equivalent of chicken with Nintendo and I’m loving the resulting salt from the corporate zealots on Twitter.

Just got to lvl 20 and I feel I already experienced the entire game.

Its really funny cause he basically spoke the truth: No one cares of the artist merit of a game if it is fun and exciting to play. And artist gotta play to the audience (or who ever is willing to put down money) if they want to get paid.

I picked it up and it's pretty fun. It doesn't play like Pokemon at all, having a Pal feels like an auxiliary ability instead of the main focus of the game. I didn't get very far so maybe that changes? Hope all of those sales translates into polishing the fuck out of the game and making a really good final product, if only to ignite more seethe from upset retards.
