Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • Happy Easter!
I suppose the power gap between the player and the Pals is just going to keep increasing, right? I eventually got the saddle for Dinossom and went from pathetically plinking away at single targets raiding my base to fucking destroying them all with a single tail slam.

it jumps up and down. If you get rare gun schematics (shotgun or single shot assault rifle especially) you can match even soul boosted lals. But you'll fall behind again if you fully condense + breed autism your Pals.

Pokemon released thier version of this several years ago. It was called Arceus. It sold 14 mil. And then SWSh came out shortly after and are the second highest selling games, taking everything Arceus did and adding gyms. They’ve even got the making your mons do jobs to get resources. That’s what might actually get them pissed. Not that someone beat them to it but that they didn’t and people are claiming they did. However for the same reason it is much more likely they won’t care. Because they released what people wanted, it sold gangbusters despite the outcry and they did this before PalWorld
Not really. I don't know why people keep saying this, but Pokemon Legends wasn't anything like this. The only similarity is that they have a negligible crafting system and a semi-open world. Otherwise, it's not comparable. SWSH is also the game that came before this. You're thinking of SV, which is... Garbage. And even though it has the appearance of being open world, it doesn't appear to play much like Legends either. Not even remotely. Two different teams were probably working on it, and it shows. Even still, both of the mainline games before and after sold nearly twice as much as the comparatively superior side game. The Pokemon fans care more about the brainless games.

I don't really know how to comment this. For some reason I did not expect something like this from their official account. Espechially gun.png. Also, how to download this short thing from youtube? I need to archive it for the future.
I switched to using FreeTube a while back due to the adblocker nonsense, and it has a button for downloading. Don't know how most people do it, I usually don't download stuff. But here's the video, if you want it. (Seems like it only let me do 720p instead of 1080p, for whatever reason.)

If you want to download at higher quality, I recommend getting Tartube.

It's a feature rich GUI that is based off of Youtube-DLP as a base, and it allows you to download plenty of videos like it, only without messing around with the command line if that isn't your thing.

I've made a recommendation of it previously in the software recommendations thread, and recently I have used it to mass archive some old channels or ones I think that are in danger of being pruned for one reason or another.

Give it a shot, it's nice.

It’s been a semi-meme to have that cutting up animation with Pokemon. Usually super upsets anyone who sees it, but someone making a PalWorld version seems very appropriate.

Using the R button when in a storage container auto dumps anything in your inventory that's already in there. So if you have Wood and Stone in the container all Wood and Stone in your inventory get dumped in with one button press. Not majorly impactful but handy.

Regarding the ore grind I believe it comes in at the exact point before you get your second base. Given the presence of a number of viable spots to shove the second base and Pals like Tomcat that can mine ores it's not too bad but the assumption seems to be you drop a new base atop an ore point to handle that until the next bottleneck which is coal. Fortunately as an earlier poster pointed out breeding a fire samurai with a king penguin gets you an Egyptian deity that happens to be pretty good at mining. I found a new mining point with coal and ore and unlocked a new base around that point so now the top of a cliff is my latest base site as I begin dismantling the old ore mine.

Think it was something like 191, -38 on the map.

I'm still in mid game, and I seem to have ran out of things to do. I've not explored the entire world yet, but at present there's just a few overworld bosses I can't fight because they refuse to spawn for some reason.

Is there any kind of win state, like beating the Syndicate leaders? The tutorial seemed to imply you'd be taking down boss towers, but I've not seen any after the first.

I watched a video about this game. It seems like one of those games that gets pushed by streaming fags and YouTube video game hipsters. You know, one of those flavor of the month games. It's hot then it's not.

I am going to predict in 3-6 months the player base will collapse. It will a dead game.
"A game will have less people playing after 6 months" isn't the condemnation you think it is.

There’s multiple boss towers, three separate factions to fight, high level dungeons, Pal sanctuary islands where the “legendaries” live, ect. I only just got to the big desert island the other day and I’m at level 40. Haven’t even seen half the map yet.

That’s it though isn’t it. It has a crafting system, it has a resource gathering system. All the overall mechanics were in Pokemon games. I’m not saying that both games play the same. I was saying Pokemon has already released their watered down versiono of this and therefore won’t react by changing or making this type of game. As you point out the numbers and data say fans wouldn’t want it.

It does. In a broad sense. You can go anywhere you want when you upgrade your mount. And you can catch anything you want whenever. The difference is the lack of being able to catch mons without combat. So it’s slower Legends if anything. And i don’t know why. Trainer Battles are plentiful - though they really need to go back to if spotted you fight. As it is you can skip them. - But point is I don’t think being able to stealth some mons in SV would have been too much of an issue.
Two different teams were probably working on it, and it shows.
The A team was on Arceus and the SV was handled by the B team iirc. I say B put it would probably be more accurate to say the new talent they are trying to train up because the old guard seems to want to retire

I just remembered I own the Pokemon Violet DLC.
I haven't finished because it was so absurdly laggy-- it took SO long to just glide Miraidon from point A to point B. Blueberry Academy had to be throughly explored on order to gain points so you can unlock more Pokemon wandering about. Then when you find a bunch of Pokemon, the game lags so much you wanna rage quit... so I did rage quit.
I don't like investing time into lag because lag is not actual gameplay.

Now in Palworld have been gliding around with Galeclaw so easily, without a single hitch. I keep exploring more and more in Palworld with hardly any technical drama that eats up my time.
And the game is only in early access! That's insane!
