Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

Motherfucker, finally. Don't have to begin my day with beating this guy down. Also learned that overland bosses don't respawn if you don't sleep.

Also another PSA: If you get a boss Digtoise, his girth allows him to hit multiple ore deposits in densely packed areas. Pretty sure he also mines significantly faster in general.

For people talking about the tree I believe they were talking about Raids and the long for the future. Seems like a possible location for such things.

Anyone who's nabbed a Lucky Pal (the giant sized glowing ones) it's got a chance to pass on that trait through breeding. Given it's a boost to combat and work stuff getting to the point where the majority of Pals have it is not a bad thing but might need a horrifying amount of Cake.

Also got around to getting a chicken to the fully condensed state, the last step does as shown in the earlier Anubis example improve the work abilities by 1 (but only existing ones, it doesn't get any ranks in anything it did not already have).

I think if you are doing a dedicated ranch setup it might be possible to circumvent the need for berry fields with a Caprity condensed high enough.

The issue with berries is that they're shit at satiating hunger. I've switched to pancakes full time since more gluttonous Pals would just spend more time going to and from grabbing food.

How the hell do you guys get them to stay in place for the breeding pen? They just sperg out and run out of the pen the minute I turn my back. My giant stone prison (multilevel thanks to the advice of @SteelPlatedHeart ) isn't complete without a eugenics program in place.

Checked SteamCharts, and it seems like the hype's beginning to die down, though in this case, we might be reaching the last stretch of the pokeclone cycle until the next big update comes around where all the pokemon fans who hyped it up as the next "Pokemon Killer" start fucking off while the actual fans of the game stay for the ride, though I came to this conclusion as the peak and minimum numbers have steadily gone down the past few days. But since Pocket Pair got a multi million success under thier belt now, they have no reason not to keep going with the updates, and that's good for them.

I have an extra food basket in my pen. My Katress occasionally runs to it though to deposit wheat but it's not a big deal moving that to its appropriate basket manually. I wish verticality in bases was accounted for in pathfinding.

I bred this recently:

I don't have access to the Legend passive yet or even the ability to ride on it but it's still solid for where I am.

Anyone related to DbD complaining about bugs and repetitive gameplay is peak hypocrisy.

It does make me wonder: will we see Palworld at things like The Game Awards at the end of the year? Not having at least some kind of mention will just make the industry seem even more nepotistic and incestuous, given what a massive splash it's made, but the dev whining has been so strong I could easily see them snubbing it in an effort to save face while they pat each other on the back over all their walking sim movie games.

Anybody that says "ludonarrative" unironically has their opinion automatically discarded.

And yeah, I can see Palworld getting snubbed. They're not part of the indie "cool kids" so they're not even going to get a mention. I think the fact myself and my coworkers that barely even game are still having fun is worth more than any bullshit "award".

You can place honey in each slot of the food bin and they’ll stop that. Do it to every bin and they’ll actually start putting them into freezers. It’s a blessing.

Also, optionally, have my unhinged ramble on breeding:

For the love of God and your own sanity PLEASE focus on breeding Chikipis with the passives you want before moving down. Chikipi has the highest score of any Pal in terms of breeding, meaning it can only be made with itself, has a wide pool of combinations, and most importantly has a super short egg hatching time. Which makes breeding lightning fast, unlike say breeding Jormuntide which takes *one hour an egg* with the best comfort level. And honestly? Using settings/mods to make breeding faster is 100% valid, because waiting like 2 hours and 8 eggs for a valid Jormuntide (needed male, game would not give my serpent a snake). It’s also a good idea to farm as many dungeons/Alpha Pals as you can for Ancient Tech parts to spam out tons of incubators.

Also, the northern end of the map has tons of great flat areas for bases. Specifically I’ve set up shop around -80, 200 which should be some hypertech city with a massive almost-flat circle that’s the perfect size for a base. Be careful if your Pals aren’t Lvl40, as the goons of the final tower boss hang around there. I highly suggest exploring though, especially with a flying mount, as Huge Ice Eggs spawn on the towers/hills nearby and you can get an Ice Suzaku, one of the BEST options for breeding in the game due to its low Breeding Rank.

And my shit opinion on the game:

I haven’t played a game this much for about two years at this point, and I adore it. Game is a rough buggy mess, but unlike the $120+ AAA goyslop this game is honest about that and is the devs are quick to respond to issues, which is great. The salt is delicious and seeing people unironically say they can’t make lamb or ferret Pals because of Pokémon is amazing. Pokémon fans are a special kind of retarded, even casual fans who still buy the subpar shit that is TPC’s scraps.

The Pals are (mostly) highly creative and are adorable, especially Lamball and Chillet. I use Alpha Chillet specifically in my base as a cooler and seeing him curl up on top of the freezer makes me happy. Some are obviously Pokémon-likes, but quite a few are distinct and feel better than Pokémon’s designs, which itself has become highly derivative and stale.

Additionally, while not fully polished the combat is fun and I rarely feel luck plays a roll, unlike most turn-based Monster Tamers where luck is typically the deciding factor between two opponents. I do hope it can go into a more MonHun direction, but given the massive modding capabilities the game is promised I’m sure a combat rework will come up. A breeding rework too, I want more control over traits and egg comfort.

And that brings me to another key point: how in tune PocketPair is with gamers. How many games were released with LAN support + dedicated self-hostable servers in 2023? So far, at least via Steam, I cannot find a single one. The game is incredibly reasonable in price, which I am sure is part of why it made over $300,000,000 (I think they said their Steam player total was 12M). Not to mention their various based stances on the modern industry and the blatant balls on display for not just fucking with TPC but including so many obvious but appreciated references that all somehow blend together really well. It’s like a gourmet trash can filled with meth. I am probably addicted to this game on some level, and I’m happy it exists.

I pirated the game and played for 10 hours.

Now I have to shell out $30 because I'm having fun... Damn it
yeah i did the gamepass to start with, realized xbox is about 2 patches behind and restarted that shit on steam.
might still go back to the gamepass if my friends ever grow a spine made of interest.

I made a cute little shed in my farm and feed area but these useless wagies can't even figure out how to use it. Even when I cut down the tree and just have the area as one chest.

I guess I'll keep it for now for aesthetics and pray to god the AI gets fixed soonish.

Swap the places of the barrel/stool and the chest. As for the tree, maybe stick one of the small decorative items on top of where the tree spawns and that should stop it from reappearing.

There's something so cathartic about running around as an obese bald black man, divebombing from the sky and blasting cartoon creatures with a comically oversized gat all the way. Get aggressive with me while I'm catching Foxsparks, Mr. Rushboar, and you're gonna learn I have the power of God, and all I have to do is pull a trigger.

I am thoroughly enjoying this game.
