Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
If they were to allow for more than one pal out on the battlefield, provided the engine were to allow for such along with balancing, perhaps they could add features where your pals synergize their abilities in tandem to compliment each other, covering each others weaknesses
They already allow multiple Pals out at once, craft the Daedream collar and put four in your party and you can have them + an active fifth Pal. I would love a synergistic relationship between some Pals, like maybe a Jormuntide can shoot out a water jet and a Foxcicle can freeze it mid-air, creating pressurized ice bullets.

In a similar vein, I think something could be done with the idea in Palworld, if Pocketpair were so inclined. But again, that's probably beyond the scope and ambitions of what they are going for. Best we can hope for is a some decent fan project to implement the idea. God knows I don't have the writing chops for that.
So first off, thank you for the videos, I’ll be sure to listen to them as I play later today. As for the idea, I think tackling our place in nature and our impact is always a strong plot, as long as its not this faggy shit we see in most media. Especially if we step into genetics and what that means for creation (and as for the evo idea and looking back on older trailers, perhaps a DNA Splicer item could be interesting).
Bandai better take notes from Yokai Watch and PalWorld if they want to keep Digimon afloat. I'm not autistic enough to play or waste money on card games. I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone in this.

PalWorld seem to learn mistakes of others and meet demand when possible. That's comforting at least.
The card art is pretty, and the game itself is fun, but fuck keeping up with the meta. Expensive cancer. I’m just happy my buds Lunamon and Coronamon are in the recent set.

God I need to check back up on the V-Bracelet, such a cool idea that they cheaped out on. Seriously the V-Pets are better built for 1/8th the damn price. And the DiM releases were such a mess. I really hope more than Pokémon stepping up (bc fuck that mediocrity) that Digimon steps up to the plate and makes something great. I won’t be helping my breath though.

Tamers is hands down the best digimon anime.
Imagine you are Derek Prince. You have a bunch of industry legends on your cast, and you are given a bit role for a comic relief character called Impmon. This time though you can tell they are phoning it in. They aren't doing good enough. So you decide to go HAM, and manage to completely overshadow the rest of the actors in the third act.
Tamers is genuinely amazing, and Derek Prince is a VA we did not deserve. Tied with OG Adventure for me, and honestly wins out sometimes. Just a shame it suffers from a Saban Soundtrack. My ideal Adventure and Tamers would be the English Dubs alongside the OG soundtracks, possibly in English instead.

Never watched the english dub. (watched the german one in my childhood, watched subbed in adulthood)

The german OST used the japanese music + german dubbing. It is genuinly one of the OST's I listen to frequently.

Bandai might abandon Vital Bracelet line altogether just looking at stats prices, FOMO included. Loogamon DIM was sold out for third and last time since Seekers ended. VB Arena app and PvP metagame is cancer, same two pairs on both vanilla and BE. Namely two susaanomon and two ferloogamon respectively. Top players use third party software to slow down the attack minigame and use sock puppet accounts to avoid banhammer.

Speaking from personal experience, I box regularly, do heat training and diet. VB app adventure mode gives items depending on stage of the Digimon and characters. Items are shared between franchises (Run for money, my hero academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Tokyo revengers, ultraman and kamen rider) Bandai killed original app and VB Arena might get killed next, which means you would be stuck over glorified dim cards and very inaccurate bracelets.
For example despite taking a dose of 650 mg of caffeine, accurate BPM shot up to 100 and above BE gave 80 BPM. It's not accurate to say the least.

Older BEs need to be updated manually and dims aren't visible in competitions. Bandai pushes for the gacha game and will drop vital bracelets year from now. Don't bother looking from eBay, JYW, ZeninTCG, etc. Scalpers clean out everything and premium Bandai gets cleaned out too.

I'll be frank, fren visit fitness board for fitness advice, avoid the gacha game and Digimon champions online which was featured in worst MMOs out there.

Bandai doesn't bother to provide fun multiplayer games by themselves Korean dev is making Digimon game for both android and Windows and it's a fan game.

PalWorld in comparison is giving players what they want; a single and multiplayer sandbox with PvP, co-op and raid battles just name few features. Only official Digimon MMO is ridden with spyware tier anti cheat, cash shop, mistranslations up the ass and digimon give advise in Spanish.

Life is hell if you like Digimon and want a game like Palworld. Bandai is going to push plastic crap since they're a toy company and a publisher.

Looks like the high has finally fallen enough for CS2 to come ahead of Palworld.

I wonder if Palworld will peak even higher than 2mil... It's only been 2-3 weeks.
Keep in mind CS 2 is valve backed game with decades old player base, workshop and more. Palworld has barely running with 40 people working at pocketpair whom are working on EA title which at this stage is a buggy mess Unreal engine breaks at places, there's no story, incomplete sections and lack of balancing. Tiny company is supposed to keep players hooked against fucking Valve owned games.

I’ll also claim Tamers as my favorite version of the anime.

I’m actually surprised I’m at almost the tail end of the leveling tree(at 45 currently) and still haven’t seen all the Pals

at 44 atm. Man, levelling slows down HARD past 40.

I have seen all but one or two pals. (Excluding some variants) I ended up upping spawnrate to the max, to make it somewhat reasonable to farm for the 10x caps and upped the capturerate to the max because of the current bug with the shrine upgrade.

I wouldn’t say the American dub is butchered (excluding the soundtrack which is a slaughter). Simply a different way to enjoy Digimon. Sorta like a light abridged version. Naturally I would have preferred a closer dub, but maybe if Discotek‘s movie redub works out we can get that in the future.

And yeah, the German OST is pretty great and even if I prefer the Japanese version of Primary Colors, Regenbögen still captures the right feel.

@Glowie (since I can’t seem to add your post to mine as a reply) It really doesn’t sound much better than since I left. It‘s a shame, especially as an early adopter with what I assume is now essentially a junked device with none of the features and (possibly) no upgrade path. Being a Digimon fan, especially in Western countries, really is suffering.

Back to Palworld though, I‘ve successfully bred 3 near-max Work Speed Anubises (Mozzarella cow coming in clutch, thankfully), and I now have a breeding path planned for Beegarde into Lyleen. I plan on exploring the Volcano as I wait for eggs in the vain search for Jormuntide Ignis. Seriously haven’t had this much fun in a game for years.

Yeah, looked it up in the meantime and my assumption it was 4kids tier one piece seems to have been very wrong.

Ran into that a few times, but marking text then clicking the reply in the overlay works for me all the time (in fact, that's how I do allmy quoting/replying)

Congrats
Seriously haven’t had this much fun in a game for years.
There have been other occassions where I had as much fun in recent times, but still, palworld is amazing.

I'm at like 105 of 113 with 4 more seen but not indexed.

I've been cross breeding like crazy to get Artisan on my Anubis, it's kind of fun to figure out what chains you can make to move skills around.

I ain't quite there yet. But the puzzle pieces are. Currently at 199 captures, though in this case a ton of them was actual hunting, not hatches.

Next up are Quivern, Mossanda, Jormuntide, Relaxaurus and Grizzbolt, if I manage to catch a male.
Welp, nevermind. Didn't even need to wait.

Nice! My Petallia’s keep coming out as female, and I only have female Mossandas, so I may do some hunting myself. Jormuntide Ignis egg hunting came up short, but I did get some decent loot regardless.

I know that, and there's at least one other ghosty that I can't quite recall the name of that has the same attribute.

I was more referring to the possibility of deploying more than one mon out of your party out on the field to act independently and synergize with their kin out on the battlefield, instead of being attached to the hip like the daydream are as a part of their special ability.

Part of this was inspired by the special bosses in the northern desert, the two lance centaurs that are close together. I have not engaged them yet, but I am going to take a wild guess that attacking one will piss off the other. Now granted, at the level you might be engaging them, the bosses might be balanced for a player around their mid 40s with a shotgun/assault rifle in tow, along with some heavily leveled and modified mons. Still, it's be nice to have a greater melee to play with, even if it might be chaotic in the best sense of the word.

Also, no problem. I was tempted to dump some more, but I think I'll save those videos for a later date to space of out.

-

Regarding transportation, you think they are going to expand on the water mons with their swimming ability? Perhaps letting them dive into new areas, or perhaps freezing the water to slide on it to gain some speed? That'd be nice.

Terraforming wouldn't hurt either, if they can feature that.

On a side note, I finally managed to snag not one, but *two* jormuntide for my party back to back, and with some decent stats/passives too.

Just... Their sanity drained insanely fast. And for the life of me, I couldn't grab on to them to get a breeding pair. Their hitbox is all wonky in that regard, and I only managed to grab one via a fluke.

I only have them out for a period of three to five minutes, and their sanity took a nosedive. I can't figure out why, but I hazard that it may be due to the climate/temperature, or some other factor that I am not aware of. If anyone has any advice for any of this, let me know. I'd like to get a good breeding pair in if I can help it.

At the risk of going off topic, I never watched any of the Digimon series from start to finish. Closest I could claim as of recent would be the latest episodic series Ghost Game, but apparently that ended on a fairly sour note, so I have not finished it.

Digimon Frontier will always have a special place in my heart, even if it ain't all there in regards to the characters and story. Kept me company on those cool winter mornings when going to elementary school.
Tamers and Adventure were also cool, though I never got the full set of them episode wise for a lack of being able to find a full set for VHS or DVD in store. Maybe one of these days I'll revisit the two of them and get a full run in. Check with the others briefly, but I honestly don't know what to make of them quality wise.

At least the abridged stuff out there is decent, even if they got nailed by the Copyright Gods for one reason or another. Can't say I am surprised, seeing as abridged stuff ain't sustainable on a platform with a hypersensitive copyright system and with owners anal to down anything at the slightest provocation to boot.

At last check, this is the latest I have been able to find, abridged wise. I know the site takes a rather dim few on them, but I can't help but enjoy them, even as a guilty pleasure. Can't complain too much with the price of free. Worst comes to worse, I can always click off as needed. Just wish they came out more frequently, but that's asking too much in this day and age.

Hell, even simple long form comic dubs have gone the way of the dodo. Best I have seen are fairly short, one offs that don't go much beyond anything. And then there are the damn SEOscapers like Kyoto Comics that are just plain mediocre, but nonetheless managed to pollute my search results despite my best attempts to filter them out. Alas, YouTube search is just plain shit these days. Can't even go back to find the good stuff from way back when anymore. If only there were some addon that would allow you to do more than just search with the boolean operators of "before:(insert time)". I'd like my sidebar from the old days back to reflect the upload date when the video was uploaded. Just too strong of a recency bias for YouTube in the current day.

In any case, if anyone has any recommendations for comic dubs, voice overs, animations, and other related stuff, by all means, give it a post. I'd like to see some stuff, be it here or in another, more appropriate thread for the purpose.

Speaking of, how much do you think Palworld is going to diversify in terms of other media and merch? It's popular enough to warrant it, if it can maintain it's current numbers.

Got four of the sparklie ones in an hour... What's the spawn rate on those things? If it's absurdly low like shinys, then something about the calculation makes them come in batches. And is there a way to farm milk and eggs for cake without just hunting?

Did you up the spawn rate? And you can put chikipies and mozzarinas in the ranch for passive income. Same with honey and beegarde

Nope, I'm running stock settings except I dropped the structure wear rate low because I hate rebuilding stuff and item drop on respawn is off. Maybe I just got lucky? Saw my first one then there were three more in an hour. A Eikthyrdeer, a Celaray, a Fuack and a Nitewing. (and I did have to look up those names)
And I didn't realize they passively dropped the items. Guess I'm gonna drop a couple out on a farm.

Just now (LV30) started to actually do more than the minimum when selecting pals for stuff, and damn things on base get a lot faster when you're trying... I guess it didn't really matter when I had more of everything I needed. Same with party. I couldn't bear to part with my Foxsparks, so I'm keeping him around, but the rest of the party is getting an overhaul.

Edit: Was about to play more, but there's an update and my internet is slow... I'm getting pre-beta minecraft vibes, actually being excited about an update. Looks like the catch rate bug is fixed.

New patch has released, allegedly fixing the Lifmunk Effigy bug, any early reporters noticing a difference?

I'm not sure my luck is gonna allow a difference, but some people on the Steam forums haven't really noticed much difference.

These mad lads are releasing weekly patches. I can't fucking believe it. Sucks I have to reboot the server a bunch.

I can't wait for new content and QOL improvements. Gonna be kino.

Well I've done it, went out into the starting area stuffed to the gills with spheres, savaging opening creatures like its the start of the game so I can condense the dumb bastards into something that will do better work.
The true monstrousness of the game, take them all, compress them from a large group into a single individual and then throw that chicken into the pen because daddy needs a bunch of eggs for carbonara for better workers.
Found two areas in the north that seem like real good new bases for quartz deposits so now the decision is which base to move.

Only way to get bracelets have to be imported, they have planned obsolescence and it's companion apps alongside social media lag behind automated bi monthly events. Bandai will rerun 02 devices, Pendulum Color and shit games. Every hobby store that carry vital bracelets in the west are first generation which are obsolete, BE have to be imported from Japan and Singapore. Don't bother. Toei is hyper focused on rebooting older series one season after the other. I don't hold onto nostalgia, to me it's stagnation and marketing people bank on nostalgia to make profit. I've passively watched every season of Digimon, applimon, seekers, 02 reboot movies and many 01 movies. It's all so tiring, Bandai lacks long term planning or care about Digimon IP and it's longevity

Applimon flopped, Ghost game got bad time slot and related games did not sell well enough in Japan to warrant global releases and localisations that applies to both anime and game. Bandai seems to hire third party companies to make their games for them.

Future for Digimon is bleak and filled with gimmick Vpets and digivices, at least fan Devs do care. Bandai can't afford for PalWord type of gamble.

Think of what you will Pocketpairs CEO unlike Pokemon company and Bandai thinks product/profit first then players second. Even Yokai Watch is catching up with their anniversary and their game.

Palworld is Baldurs Gate 3 of creature collection genre it shook status quo with providing content and giving players what they want corporate wants second.
Pocketpair put their entire company and bet on success of Palworld, a tiny company can't afford to take Ls that Pokemon company made over past decades.
