Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
So the effigies weren't decreasing catch rate, but rather didn't increase it? Weird. Being lazy paid off, I guess. The power statue is one object I always forget to interact with in a base.

Regarding transportation, you think they are going to expand on the water mons with their swimming ability? Perhaps letting them dive into new areas, or perhaps freezing the water to slide on it to gain some speed? That'd be nice.

Terraforming wouldn't hurt either, if they can feature that.
I would love for the swimmer pals to be more useful. If it wasn’t for Jormuntide being an offensive beast I wouldn’t have a swimmer at all on my team. I especially love the idea of a “diving suit” and certain Pals allowing for underwater exploration. Imagine the creative potential of new Pals. Especially if they can get some inspiration from Subnautica on how to succeed with underwater exploration.

Terraforming would be fantastic but I understand if it may be too much. I’d love to be able to clear the trees and rocks out more permanently and make just about any land flat enough for a base.

I only have them out for a period of three to five minutes, and their sanity took a nosedive. I can't figure out why, but I hazard that it may be due to the climate/temperature, or some other factor that I am not aware of. If anyone has any advice for any of this, let me know. I'd like to get a good breeding pair in if I can help it.
What part of the map are you in? I’ve been keeping my Jormuntides in the neutral part of the map (i.e. spawn) in the straw Pal beds with the first level of hot springs and being fed on baked berries and they’re rather happy. This is with 3-4 of them out at once as well.

At least the abridged stuff out there is decent, even if they got nailed by the Copyright Gods for one reason or another. Can't say I am surprised, seeing as abridged stuff ain't sustainable on a platform with a hypersensitive copyright system and with owners anal to down anything at the slightest provocation to boot.
Project Mouthwash’s Tri Abridged (a continuation of their Adventure Abridged) is the only legitimate Tri to me. Full stop. Really is a shame that parody, one of the most significant forms of fair use, is so heavily censored due to (((copyright))). Would much rather all copyright cease if we cannot live in a world where 10-20yr copyrights exist.

Apparently yes, with the higher numbers not lining up + insufficient data creating a placebo of lowered rates. Whether we actually had an higher catch rate at the start or not, I’m not sure. Just happy we’re getting so many updates this quick.

Jormuntide Ignis egg hunting came up short, but I did get some decent loot regardless.
Fire Jorumuntides can be found easily on the NW sanctuary alongside those egyptian fire birds, whatever their name was. Be mindful of their fireballs, since they hit like a truck and home in on you.

I did end up installing two QoL mods. One shows the IV's of pals in the box and the other makes storage universal from the build menu. It does amaze me though how many "cheat" mods there are when the settings are robust enough the way they are now to make the game simple.

Cheaters want to join hardcore and PvP servers with a advantage, server owners should have option prevent modded games from join and incorporate QoL mods that affect the entire server.

I only installed a custom crosshair. I don't know what they were thinking with those semitransparent smidges of cum that blend in with whatever you're looking at.
God forbid if you're anywhere near snow, crosshair and shape setting is needed, since colors are so vibrant and element theme bosses kill epileptics with flashing RBY. I'd appreciate the option to change the color opposite of the current biome. Half the time I was thinking did the HUD have a fit.

Nor over half million people, shit games like Suicide squad got review shilled from mixed reviews while PalWorld, which is single and multiplayer player game with frequent with quarter of the price.

Since PalWorld is a single player game lacking western/TenCent thought of battle pass and always online requirement. Multiplayer is optional for experience from a EA game against a full fledged Triple A release. Life is beautiful sometimes.

Not sure how that could be done on the client side. I don't have an issue with client side mods for QOL. You should be okay with IV checkers in the PalBox and custom uis. Those things make the game funner.

The issue is when the server side is affected. I'm not sure how they can fix that other than using server side validation on user inputs. Worried about the performance hit from that.

Two words white list
Okay how do you reliably dump the contents of a user's mod folder, and send it back to the server? Keep in mind the code that dumps that directory is on the clients machine not the server's. That code is also open source so it would be trivial to stub the code that dumps your mods to hide /mods/being_a_faggot

Edit: palworld is not open source. The Lua injection framework used for modding and its APIs are open source.

A friend of mine set up a server so I've started over to play with friends. Guilds are weird, the entire guild is subject to the single player base limit which makes it kind of hard to decide to guild up later when you've already placed your second base. The only benefit is that you can access each other's chests but there's nothing stopping you from just dropping shit on the ground and letting anyone pick it up but it's kind of annoying, kind of wanted to set up a dedicated schematic library. Currently there's no PVP or friendly fire but I'm sure that's going to change in the future. There's a lot of potential.

As for stability, it's not the best. Seems like it crashes more around noon (US) than it does at night no matter how many people are running around at a given time. The big thing is I glitch through the ground a lot more on the server, but that's often fixed by logging out and logging back in again so it's not a huge deal. Overall it's a pretty fun experience.

I just unlocked the sword, and for some reason it's more efficient than both the axe and pickaxe. Weird balancing decision.

Huh, so we're at the same level then. What a coincidence, since I just reached the level for the sword not too long ago. Guess that'll cynch my decision for what to spend my remaining six technology points on. Been trying to farm wixen for them, but no dice thus far for the stuff.
Are there any reliable bosses or other mobs I can form for the purpose? Same with High Quality Oil too. I know there are those blubber fish where the Anubis boss is at, but it's somewhat painfully slow to farm and hunt them down. About the only alternative is farming the big mammoth boss at the start of the game, but for obvious reasons, he is also slow to farm.

Any other mod recommendations you guys recommend? I have yet to install any on my end due fears that the frequent updates might screw up something important. I have been keeping my eye on the ones that allow for multiple bases, but my gut instinct tells me that the devs may not intend to limit you to just three bases, and like how any Skyrim modder will know, updates have a bad habit of breaking said mods quite terribly.

I don't want to get into that situation, especially since Steam has made it difficult, if not impossible to block said updates a few years back.

Ideally, I want something that will remain stable through multiple updates, or at least is easy to bounce back from if a update breaks said mod.

Alternatively, the eggs that are to most likely spawn them can also be found in the volcano region in the southwest portion of the map. Just be mindful to bring gear that resists heat, and watch out for the high level mobs there too.

It's how I got my own Ignis early on by several levels like I posted earlier. Though bear in mind that you won't get his saddle until around the 40s.

Huh, I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm at the metal ore node around the center village area to the west of it, the ones that have all the mushrooms and where the trees are in perpetual Fall. I'll have to test it, but it'll be a pain to breed them elsewhere since my other two bases are a little cramped at the moment. Thanks for the heads up.

In regards to your comments about the transportation and terraforming stuff, it's still early days. Right now the devs seem well focused on provided QoL and other such updates for the time being. While I am hopeful those updates may come via the form of modding or other such things, it'll be some time before we get something to that effect.

Terraforming especially may prove taxing to the game's engine and build, seeing as the game doesn't appear to be built with it in mind. While I am not too knowledgeable with how game engines work, introducing such a major feature seems a bit fraught with peril. I can easily see it tanking performance or worse if done incorrectly. But again, that remains to be seen.

Pretty much, yeah. But alas, it's the world we live in, so we must bear it. It might be just me, but it seems there is a drought of such similar content, in favor of much easier, shorter to produce stuff like livestreams, stream of conciousness videos, essays, and what not. About the only thing left that has actually improved somewhat are the educational vids, but even those sometimes suffer the wrath of YouTube's Copyright and ToS bots that'll nail random creators out of the blue.

It isn't a surprise, seeing as YouTube directly incentivizes such stuff, and disincentivies others like animations, comic dubs, or anything that can't be rammed out on a near daily basis. It's a SEO nightmare, to put it bluntly. And anything that does pop up seems to be geared towards kowtowing to the algorithm regardless.

At least I knows of a few channels like DevilArtemis that seems to make good shit on the daily, and at an impressive rate too. To be honest, I am a bit fearful of looking them up on the Farms. So many other creators I have followed in the past have turned sour for one reason or another, and like to preserve the memory of the few good ones that remain.

In other news, I am a slight bit concerned with how Palworld still intends to make a profit going forward with the game. It made gamebusters to be sure, even with the inevitable refunds that were to be had, but from my understanding, hosting the official servers is proving to be quite the financial ordeal. The devs have gone on record they'll keep em going, hell or high water, but I am worried that'll changed down the line.

With how live services are in the majority vogue these days, I am hoping they come up with a reasonable scheme to keep themselves afloat while remaining independent of any of the greater publishers and what not.

Honestly, the worst case scenario for me would be getting purchased, or at least having a majority stake in their company being gained by the likes of Tencent, Embracer Group, and what not. While their record seems to fluctuate with the latter in terms of how often they interfere, it would not surprise me to see at least any of them try to make an offering to purchase the devs outright.

If that were to happen, how long would it be until the game were to suffer a live service update? Just look what has happened and is happening to Minecraft over the years with their updates to their ToS and other schemes to monotize it and purge any conduct that Microsoft would rather be afar from their game.

Granted, this is mostly paranoia on my part, but having seen what has happened to such games over the years, my gut tells me it is bounded to happen sooner or later.

On another side note, the shotgun rocks. I managed to get a special variant that holds ten rounds instead of the usual eight. A little expensive to maintain upkeep, in relation to getting all the Pal oils I mentioned, but I managed to take decent level bosses with it no problem. Way better than the musket, repeating rifle, or pistol up close.

Still need a few levels for those damned centaurs up north though. They hit like a truck and my pellets just deal scratch damage.

Manuals I get by the dozen from level 40 dungeons. Oil I just buy from merchants, fuck farming it especially since I don't really know what drops it. The only thing I have to actually farm is fluids, because merchants don't seem to sell them, so I just hunt the Azurays and Kelpseas near Azurobe alpha.

Also I bred two three good Lovanders (third hatched after I disabled the injector). Took 250+ lizards. Perfect excuse to test out the IV mod, and luckily the first one was slightly better. Unfortunately, the mod itself is a big performance hit if you have a ton of Pals in your box. It also actually froze my game when I tried entering a boss fight, so I disabled both it and the injector. Will likely reenable if I start getting Grizzbolts with good traits.

edit: just realized that 4-starring a Pal adds +1 to every talent it has. So you can have a Jormungtide with 5 Kindling/Watering or a Digtoise with 4 in mining, which I imagine would be retardedly fast since leveling up his ability increases the number of ticks per spin.

Just updated and I'm not really seeing any difference on catch rates, even though I have maxed out statues. Weird.

Question. Are alpha pals worth it, mechanically? Or is mass breeding better?
