I just unlocked the sword, and for some reason it's more efficient than both the axe and pickaxe. Weird balancing decision.
Huh, so we're at the same level then. What a coincidence, since I just reached the level for the sword not too long ago. Guess that'll cynch my decision for what to spend my remaining six technology points on. Been trying to farm wixen for them, but no dice thus far for the stuff.
Are there any reliable bosses or other mobs I can form for the purpose? Same with High Quality Oil too. I know there are those blubber fish where the Anubis boss is at, but it's somewhat painfully slow to farm and hunt them down. About the only alternative is farming the big mammoth boss at the start of the game, but for obvious reasons, he is also slow to farm.
I did end up installing two QoL mods. One shows the IV's of pals in the box and the other makes storage universal from the build menu. It does amaze me though how many "cheat" mods there are when the settings are robust enough the way they are now to make the game simple.
Any other mod recommendations you guys recommend? I have yet to install any on my end due fears that the frequent updates might screw up something important. I have been keeping my eye on the ones that allow for multiple bases, but my gut instinct tells me that the devs may not intend to limit you to just three bases, and like how any Skyrim modder will know, updates have a bad habit of breaking said mods quite terribly.
I don't want to get into that situation, especially since Steam has made it difficult, if not impossible to block said updates a few years back.
Ideally, I want something that will remain stable through multiple updates, or at least is easy to bounce back from if a update breaks said mod.
Fire Jorumuntides can be found easily on the NW sanctuary alongside those egyptian fire birds, whatever their name was. Be mindful of their fireballs, since they hit like a truck and home in on you.
Alternatively, the eggs that are to most likely spawn them can also be found in the volcano region in the southwest portion of the map. Just be mindful to bring gear that resists heat, and watch out for the high level mobs there too.
It's how I got my own Ignis early on by several levels like I posted earlier. Though bear in mind that you won't get his saddle until around the 40s.
What part of the map are you in? I’ve been keeping my Jormuntides in the neutral part of the map (i.e. spawn) in the straw Pal beds with the first level of hot springs and being fed on baked berries and they’re rather happy. This is with 3-4 of them out at once as well.
Huh, I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm at the metal ore node around the center village area to the west of it, the ones that have all the mushrooms and where the trees are in perpetual Fall. I'll have to test it, but it'll be a pain to breed them elsewhere since my other two bases are a little cramped at the moment. Thanks for the heads up.
In regards to your comments about the transportation and terraforming stuff, it's still early days. Right now the devs seem well focused on provided QoL and other such updates for the time being. While I am hopeful those updates may come via the form of modding or other such things, it'll be some time before we get something to that effect.
Terraforming especially may prove taxing to the game's engine and build, seeing as the game doesn't appear to be built with it in mind. While I am not too knowledgeable with how game engines work, introducing such a major feature seems a bit fraught with peril. I can easily see it tanking performance or worse if done incorrectly. But again, that remains to be seen.

Project Mouthwash’s Tri Abridged (a continuation of their Adventure Abridged) is the only legitimate Tri to me. Full stop. Really is a shame that parody, one of the most significant forms of fair use, is so heavily censored due to (((copyright))). Would much rather all copyright cease if we cannot live in a world where 10-20yr copyrights exist.
Pretty much, yeah. But alas, it's the world we live in, so we must bear it. It might be just me, but it seems there is a drought of such similar content, in favor of much easier, shorter to produce stuff like livestreams, stream of conciousness videos, essays, and what not. About the only thing left that has actually improved somewhat are the educational vids, but even those sometimes suffer the wrath of YouTube's Copyright and ToS bots that'll nail random creators out of the blue.
It isn't a surprise, seeing as YouTube directly incentivizes such stuff, and disincentivies others like animations, comic dubs, or anything that can't be rammed out on a near daily basis. It's a SEO nightmare, to put it bluntly. And anything that does pop up seems to be geared towards kowtowing to the algorithm regardless.
At least I knows of a few channels like DevilArtemis that seems to make good shit on the daily, and at an impressive rate too. To be honest, I am a bit fearful of looking them up on the Farms. So many other creators I have followed in the past have turned sour for one reason or another, and like to preserve the memory of the few good ones that remain.

In other news, I am a slight bit concerned with how Palworld still intends to make a profit going forward with the game. It made gamebusters to be sure, even with the inevitable refunds that were to be had, but from my understanding, hosting the official servers is proving to be quite the financial ordeal. The devs have gone on record they'll keep em going, hell or high water, but I am worried that'll changed down the line.
With how live services are in the majority vogue these days, I am hoping they come up with a reasonable scheme to keep themselves afloat while remaining independent of any of the greater publishers and what not.
Honestly, the worst case scenario for me would be getting purchased, or at least having a majority stake in their company being gained by the likes of Tencent, Embracer Group, and what not. While their record seems to fluctuate with the latter in terms of how often they interfere, it would not surprise me to see at least any of them try to make an offering to purchase the devs outright.
If that were to happen, how long would it be until the game were to suffer a live service update? Just look what has happened and is happening to Minecraft over the years with their updates to their ToS and other schemes to monotize it and purge any conduct that Microsoft would rather be afar from their game.
Granted, this is mostly paranoia on my part, but having seen what has happened to such games over the years, my gut tells me it is bounded to happen sooner or later.

On another side note, the shotgun rocks. I managed to get a special variant that holds ten rounds instead of the usual eight. A little expensive to maintain upkeep, in relation to getting all the Pal oils I mentioned, but I managed to take decent level bosses with it no problem. Way better than the musket, repeating rifle, or pistol up close.
Still need a few levels for those damned centaurs up north though. They hit like a truck and my pellets just deal scratch damage.
