Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Meanwhile, the Steam concurrent player numbers have currently reached an all time low of of 137,044 players
Funny, I see a post like this every day on /v/ as well. Palworld is doomed, etc. Its devs will be frog-marched to prison for ripping off Pokemon any day now. What compels people to do this?

Pro tip: when reaching an "all-time low" is still well over a hundred thousand simultaneous players one month after launch, that's what you call an "unmitigated success."

The point wasn't about how the game is doomed and all that, its that the hype has more or less died off for the most part and there should be far less pressure for PocketPair to make whatever update and not have people be disappointed compared to when the game was getting over two million dailiy.

Yeah, now the pressure is on Arrowhead, who at least have Sony backing them up. Pocketpair emptied their budget for Palworld a week before release.

Hype always dies down. Better to have it die down from a massive high with few complaints than to pull a No Man's Sky. This way people eagerly await upcoming additions instead of lamenting months of radio silence followed by a years-long "redemption arc" adding promised features without improving the actual game.

I agree they should be feeling less pressure now than Hello Games did post-launch.

If that's the case, you're the first person I've seen use it in that context. Usually it's salty people who hate the game trying to claim it's an obscure failure while corporate slop like Suicide Squad and Diablo 4 are currently sleeper hits.

Freedom. Female. IVs are 85+. Now I just gotta get her to 50 and feed her every skill fruit available. Ready for the tree zone whenever. It's still fucking asinine how many eggs it took for a Musclehead + Ferocious + Legend and Musclehead + Ferocious + Swift pair to get this combo once. I even managed to get one with 3x tier 3 REDS.

Dare I ask how many it took? I have largely lost interest in trying to get a good breeding in. Between trying to keep my boxes from filling up from various mons I want to breed, but end up getting tangled in the confusion from trying to sort all the mons with good breeding while also keeping track of which may be compatible, and then getting the needed eggs for the purpose, I just largely have settled with "good enough" for my purposes.

Not to mention the absurd number of mons I need to condense in order to get a good mon in.

Bordering on 500, but by the end I had 3 breeding ranches running and set the hatch time to 0 in server settings, because I had literally nothing else to do. The 116 pals you need to feed into the condenser for 4 stars will come naturally, you will likely be selling the excess amount to merchants. I do not recommending stuffing them in viewing cages, since they will spill out and fuck up base pathing.

When exactly was it decided that the measure of a successful game is everyone everywhere playing it continuously until the end of time?

This industry has completely passed me by. If I play anything for more than a week before getting tired of it and wanting to do something else with my time, it's something really, really special.

It wasn't. It's almost always bait when someone posts a comment like that. There is always a thread on /v/ with the same opener (screencap of steam trend and mocking blurb "ha ha FOTM it's dying lol"). Some autist pays such close attention to those numbers and /v/ that they make sure to repost the thread every time the jannies nuke the old one. It's good bait though -- the threads usually attract dozens or hundreds of mocking replies.

That or there's a handful of people so desperately eager to see something they hate fail that they just smear this shit everywhere hoping it'll stick. It never does, and they move on to the next shiny thing soon enough.

So what's a way to get decent pals without hours of breeding? Obviously they won't be god rolls, but something that's above average would be nice.

Early Access and Games as a Service have conditioned people console war consoomers that a game is "dead" if it goes a month without a content update or doesn't maintain a six digit player base. But that standard only applies when it suits them.

Out of boredom I decided to measure total size of the map.

Since waypoints appear on the radar when you're within the 300m range, I got exactly on the mark and drew the line from where the icon's logical "center" would be. This one is 60px long, which gives us 5 meters per pixel. Since the map is a square, I only had to stitch one side of it, which totaled to 1639 pixels, or 8195 meters per side, bringing the total playable area to 67158 square metres, or 67.158 sqkm, 16.6 acres, 26 sq miles. It's slightly smaller than the map of GTAV (80 sqkm / 31 sqmi), and close to double of what Skyrim has (37 sqkm / 14.3 sqmi). PP claimed the area was 16 sqkm, don't know if their math was really really off or if they were referring to just the land, which still wouldn't feel right.
The map is 1639x1639 (or 2686321 pixels square), the selection is 818678, or 30% of the total area, which translates into 20 square meters of land. More if we account for the inaccessible tree, which isn't accounted for.

Also a side note: sprinting Jetdragon zooms at around 135 km/h or 84 miles per hour. I heard that his base sprint speed reaches the cap, so any passives that make him faster do him basically no favors.

I defeated Shadowbeak with less than a minute remaining and hatched my blue Suzaku. Not sure what to do now... I kinda want all of the journals,

Note that I'm pretty sure you're standing at the point of the arrow, so your calc is off by the ratio of how far you're off squared.

This is a dumb question: has anyone tried flying with Vanwyrm? Made the saddle for it and for some reason I can't fly with one.

Nah, my gut was right. The arrow's back is glued to the character. If it was the tip, I'd be swimming in the left pic, almost on the other side actually.

Tested it myself... I REALLY thought it was on the front, but mine appears to be pinned to the middle, tested by taking a 180 degree step and opening the map. You can watch the arrow change with the update lag.

As soon as you've made the saddle for a pal, you should be able to hold F to ride. Just make sure he's your active and out pal and not a wild one or random one working on the base.

I saw something about a big update coming at the end of the month. Hopefully will fix some issues. I want them to fix the pals in base not actually working if no one is on base. Makes It frustrating to have to set time to AFK just so my pals can mine a bunch of ore and grow food.

Did you pick it up off the bench? Also you can check your key items for it to make sure you didn't make the wrong one.
