So a lawyer commenting on how Nintendo is retroactively changing it's patents during a trail is click bait? Yeah no I think Pocketpair has a good chance at winning if Nintendo is trying to do the legal equivalent to "moving the goal post" in order to win.
Indeed, there's hardly any basis for Nintendo to actually win the lawsuit in either spirit or letter and retroactive patent changes are just a sign that Nintendo is both desperate and aware that they lack a strong case. Harman here is just someone whose Nintendo fanboyism is so strong that his conclusion that Nintendo will win is out of a sheer desire to see them win the lawsuit, rather than anything based on the given material, except for the fact that Nintendo is a much larger and much wealthier company and thus is resorting to attrition over legal argument. The same goes for nearly everyone else who believes that Nintendo will win or deserves to win the lawsuit, and they'll ghost you when they realize they can't argue that design similarities are insufficient for Nintendo's actions, as Palworld doesn't even play like any Nintendo game in particular, and Palworld's success has not been contingent on their character designs resembling Pokemon, but more doing what Nintendo isn't interested in doing, and said designs aren't critical sales drivers but hooks. Character designs aren't even the basis for Nintendo's lawsuit but patent infringement as well, but there's hardly been any given reason for Nintendo to target or single out Pocketpair or Palworld compared to any other game featuring creature capturing/managing in any way other than feeling personally threatened.

If anything, there's room to argue that Nintendo deserves to not only lose the lawsuit, but fully reimburse Pocketpair for all their litigation expenses.

Pretty sure the intent is never about the money; it's about taking out a rival competitor before they steal their lunch. The lawsuit is like the running cost of running a monopoly business.
Yeah the point of the entire suit is simply to prevent games like Palworld from ever threatening the Pokémon hegemony ever again. They're being made an example of so if anyone ever even dares to THINK of making a Pokémon but not shitty they'll stop because Nintendo has shown how willing they are to fight and kill you through lawfare if you try.

This is Japan though. Isn't it way different over there?

It is, but if they were to win, there still wouldn't really be a legal argument. It would just boil down to "We believe that Nintendo is in the right because they're Nintendo, they're richer and bigger, and they're so NIntendoly and their Nintendoliness is why we believe that their lawsuits are valid." It doesn't help that Japan's perception of Palworld and Pocketpair is much more negative, but it's obvious that the Japanese perspective on games as non-developers is generally far more complacent and basic and less autistic.

Nintendo will win the lawsuit. The question is now how badly Pocket Pair is going to get fucked by it.

I imagine they’ll never recover from this. On top of that, Pokémon fans will be able to point and laugh at this situation as a blatant attempt at trying to stop Pokémon’s endless upward momentum.
The fact that Nintendo let an AI slop clone of Palworld on the eShop invalidated the entire lawsuit.

The TL:DW
Palworld 1.0 is coming out 2026.
Pocket Pair is still going strong.
The winter update will have less content than previous updates because they're doing bugfixes and other behind the scenes work ready for 1.0.
They have started Pocket Pair Publishing, which will be marketing, distribution, and advice for indie devs.

My take. I hope Pocket Pair Publishing goes well. Indie publishers like Devolver and New Blood start off well but decayed over time.

Is palworld really -that- "monster from capsule vs monster from capsule"? First time I noticed them doing any meaningful damage was versus the first boss cocksock blue guy everyone loves. Is it a big part of the game? is the player less than 30% of dmg done?

Another crossover.

Here I am still farming for terraria weapons: I already got the legendary nightglow but I really the legendary terraprisma too (i don't care
for weapon requiring ammunitions).
This new collab will probably drop some new OP weapons.

I honestly wonder how this is gonna go down. I doubt they'd add V1.
The whole premise of a collab between these two feels wrong. One's a grim and bloody boomer-shooter, the other's an open-world base-building crafting hunting and boss-battling Ark-like.
I imagine we might see more mobility options from this though. I also wonder how this'll look on the side of ULTRAKILL, wtf will the dev add there? Easter eggs? Crafting? A cattiva boss battle?

I've stumbled upon a rather interesting individual. His gimmic is that he hates Palworld and anything that filthy PC gamers can muster in terms of nintendo-likes. He does it with a smugness of an early redditor. If that is actually a gimmic, he's very good at this.

Everyone responding to him is almost as much of a faggot as he is, because they responded seriously to this shit. Especially this person:

He's had a KF thread for years
