I mean a new game that resembles the first two, not a (likely poorly emulated) rom locked behind a $50 paywall.

Poor TTYD man, it's forever stuck on GameCube and PC emulators...
I don't understand Nintendo's problem. It really does seem like the Mario franchise is kind of dead on their end. They seem obsessed about investing in shitty indie games with bad gimmicks.

Now that the "sole" RPG series is out of the picture, what's Nintendo's excuse to treat Paper Mario like a guinea pig?
There was a leaked memo outlining that the higher ups were demanding the devs to dumb down the series and that adding "unique" characters is damaging the Mario brand, which isn't supposed to rely on a continuity like some of the Zelda games.

But people will still buy it, even if it turns out to be worse than "baby's first RPG."

A few years back Nintendo said that Mario & Luigi games would be the RPG series and Paper Mario would be more about story. Then they stopped making Mario & Luigi games lolgetwrecked

Wut?

Either way, the Expansion Pass is only getting better. Pretty cool!

It's the same old game.

Most RPGs are all about stories though. The stories for the newer games suck as well. I suspect autism ruined everything. Why do they create games only the creators want to play?
