I pirated the game but it ran like ass despite the fact my PC and handle Stalker 2 and late game Kaiserredux exceptionally well, has Paradox improved that?
Did you play with 3d terrain? That shit lags so much it is ass. It is however running fine when you turn it off

Looks like the 1.1 patch for EU5 will go live tomorrow (5th of March). From a brief glance at the changes, it looks to be mostly for the better, so fingers crossed that my second ERE run isn't going to be gimped by some obscure shit again. (Stupid Mamluks better not need three different wars just to take the Nile Delta.)

Summary:
  • Added more QOL features from EU4 like army templates, return cores, transfer subjects, rally points, music player
  • New German Style Content
  • New loading screen (woah!)
  • Massive list of rebalancing and bug fixes for the playtesters playerbase to enjoy (arty and cav dmg reduction adjusted for the 10th time, food decay, estate seething, etc)
  • New countries in Mongolia
Overall, looks like the game will be significantly less annoying to play. Unless the new rebalances ruin the game, idk I'm still waiting for the Byzantine DLC.

Hope you were playing on the beta branch.

"If your save is from the live version 1.0.11, we highly recommend starting a new save game."

It was also announced that update 1.2 will not have an open beta because it will include content for the first DLC (Byzantium)

Had the best Ottoman run I've ever done with most of the Balkans annexed, the hordes in the south beat down, a streak of border gore annexed in Georgia, and allied with Egypt. I update the game and my economy is -500 gold per turn, my standing army is for some reason 17K; it's never been so over.

Yes, they warned people that while saves will be technically compatible, all the changes implemented will likely wreck your save. You can try to rollback to previous versions if you want to finish that save.

Decided to play on the new EU5 patch as Naples and half of Europe decided to fight over Bosnian independence in 1344. I'm helping Hungary and Poland to fight Austria, France, Castile, and Bosnia. Somehow we're winning; the Austrians just got defeated, and Hungary annexed some land from them.

Doing a new run as Holland again, already loving the alt history. СЛАВА БОГУ!

Serbia did this in my game too. At least these territories will have low control, making them easier to take. I'm currently doing a NaplesJerusalemLatin Empire run because apparently you can do that as Naples (as long as you stay Catholic), so I'm going to need those Greek lands.

Edit: We won! Time to make Serbia small again!

I extremely dislike whatever projection rape they did for EU5. In EU5, Borneo/Brunei (0.7 million km²) is the same size as the Congo (2.3 million km²). Brazil barely alignes with continental plates, North America is extremely too North. They did say in dev diaries in EU4 they they took some liberties in map projection for gameplay or making the map easier to read, but for EU5 it just seems like they reshuffled the Earth entirely.
