I'm a noob even though I had EU4 I'm still pretty inexperienced.
I think its far enough removed from EU4 we're all gonna be noobs regardless of how much EU4 playtime we have.

So something for a beginner.
My recommendation, and the one I'm going for personally, is Portugal. Small enough to be manageable, but big enough to touch on most, if not all, systems. If you buddy up with Castile, and maybe England, you don't really have to worry about being conquered. You can learn about warfare and expansion with some early expansion into Morocco (Castile helps here as well). You get a head start on exploartion and colonization which lets you learn about those and trade, without having to also compete so hard with other colonizers.

I haven't played Stellaris in like, two years. Does it make sense to try the newest version + all DLCs (yes, I won't pay money for it) again or will I just get irrationally angry at video games.
An update earlier this year completely broke Stellaris, and they still havent fixed it. I advise avoiding it, unless you want to roll back to the version from early this year, before the update.

I know that, but some people don't pirate -shrug- so i just pointed out the problem the game has for normies
If you are a retarded goym who buys 3 mission tree DLCs you do not deserve to have your opinion recognized as anything except an assortment of noises, those less informed of your stupidity may interpret as words that are supposed to mean things

My hype is building but the ui still makes me want to vomit. Still way too much empty but "used" space and im still not sold on needing these fancy 3D avatars with the ugliest art style to represent our rulers. Im not playing as the king of France. i am playing as France, tf do I care what he looks like?

Mechanics wise It looks super solid. I just hope there are mods relatively quickly to fix this God Awful mess. It really does just look like a vic3 or ck3 mod which makes me want to give up.

Posting again but idc yall do know they will 100% add dlc to give your little 3D animated rulers portraits extra clothes and such. This is genuinely starting to just look like a conversion mod for ck3

I am going to use mods removing the 3D characters if it gets made, I give 0 shits about them. EU4 was perfectly fine having none of that.

Yeah same. It just comes off to me as more slop to sell you dlc over. Plus it contributes unnecessarily to the already buggy disaster that paradox games on launch are. "Oh my gosh look how cool my ruler looks woaaaaah!!!!" Like just go play ck3

Paradox appears to have responded hard to the outrage over the AI being too passive and made it much more aggressive. This is an observer game from Zlewikk on very hard in 1789.

Likewise, watching Lemon Cake's Poland streams he's having a hard time fighting Bohemia and the AI countries can be seen having blobbed more, France by the early 1400s has won the 100 Years War and is now starting to expand into the HRE and even took Lubeck.

Some hate the 3D Characters and want them gone.

Some will want to just disable them. Others will use the mod systems to make them into 2D portraits and static images.

And some, I am sure, are currently awaiting to do unspeakable things on LoversLab.

It’s a start, but I definitely feel that some stuff should be scripted to happen, like Golden Horde has a 95% to fall, Russia has a 80-90% to form, and Muscovy forms it in 9/10 cases of it being formed. France should be incentivized not to expand to Iberia at all and the Iberian wedding should happen most of the time. Those are just some examples, though I remain confident that Paradox fixes most of these issues in like 1 to 2 years. This is Johan’s team after all. I won’t buy this game on release, but I’ll pirate it and then buy the base game in at least a few months or whenever I feel comfortable to do so. Future DLC will definitely still be obtained through the seven seas by me however.

Look at the tiny Ottomans getting double penetrated by Mamluks and Georgia. How the mighty has fallen. Big Blue Blob is back.
I don't get why places like British Isles and Scandinavia aren't united. Both are pretty out of the way of everything. Probably some unfun alliance chain cuckery.
