Cynics are fags cause they don't realize that not everyone, infact, usually nobody, wants to hear about how much they don't care. Nihilism takes it to a new extreme though. Nihilism is vastly misunderstood. Some people liken it to depression or stupidity or willful ignorance but it's actually none of these things. It's a devilish lack of attention to what truly matters. It's a shuttering of one's higher senses. It's an embrace of one's loosened lower senses.
To understand the Nietzschian concept of true nihilism, one must understand the Freudian concept of ID, Ego, SuperEgo. That what you call you is actually many different layers of awareness, with the first layer of awareness consisting of the foundation of Maslow's Hierachy of Needs. Water, Food, Safety, Shelter. What one often takes for granted in modern society, disconnecting one from one's ID, and allowing it to turn soft, flimsy, childish. As you see with those who overindulge in the libidinal, be it food, drugs, sex, etc. The Ego, what one defines as one's self. What one is in touch with in combination with their conditions and their identity. If one lacks fulfillment, one might come to lack identity in time. Then there's SuperEgo, the angel on one's shoulder, if you will. What one aims for, in their ideals. What is embodied in the concept of metaphysical dreaming. One could imagine the more sacred feelings, some of which we lack words for, is what attaches you to your SuperEgo. This can be experienced if you're a marvel fan watching the flash, a slavic man kneeling before an icon of christ, or in an emperor finally finding peace in growing beautiful dalmatian cabbages.
But the sacred we are in touch with, through our propaganda, through our memetic culture, and the nostalgia: literally translating to "our pain" we revolve around. This might draw out the light and leave people feeling hollow. When this is the norm, the true emptiness of nihilism becomes a baseline for people before they allow themselves to be filled by their surroundings. In the 70s that manifested as pure vapidity and hedonism, from left to right. But now, as the gangsterization of America rolls on, the substance people are becoming likened to is that of violence, greed, and selfishness. That is true nihilism. The lack of assertion, the dissolution of the SuperEgo, subversion of the ID, and manipulation of the Ego. Evola preached about where fascism would take people if they allowed it's core to be hollow, filled with ennui as it were in natsoc Germany, a utopian, regressive ideal. Evola was labelled an antifascist, despite being one of the key intellectual figures that helped lead to the crafting of said ideology.
