how do you cook them, what do you add to them, actually for that matter what the fuck do you call them?

Good scrub under running cold water, cut off the tops.
Split them lengthways, rub with oil.
Bake 35 minutes at 200 (don't know what that is in burgerland measurements).
Eat them. Bit of butter is nice on them.

I like putting them in a boring lentil soup.

They have a similar zing to celery, but the texture stands up better for overnight Crock-Pot soup. Instead of weird sloppy ex-celery, you just have some slices of Ghost Carrot in among the carrots and onion.

Physically, you can treat them as carrots, as far as the cooking methods go. They might need a tiny bit longer, and if you find a really thick one, check that the center hasn't gone woody. (This will become obvious if you cut it at all.)

Agree with above: a little bit of butter and salt is nice.
