So, for awhile now I was operating under the assumption that Biden's under-performance with "culturally conservative" Hispanics in areas like Florida and Texas was a Covid fluke related to wanting to work or not wanting to vote by mail. Democrats failed to hold onto one of their congressional districts in a special election in a rural hispanic district, and thats enough evidence for me to conclude that I'm wrong.

This is a (quiet, below the radar) cock in the face of Democrats who believe that demographics are destiny and, maybe, a way out of the bluing of the west/southwest.

I'm having a hard time reconciling the attacks on Biden's clear lack of mental competence with the fact that many of these same people want Trump to run in 2024 at age 78. Like, seriously...he wasn't that good the first time.

It's very simple really: Biden has had so many visible gaffes that anyone who isn't a true blue leftists know something is wrong but Biden isn't being allowed to just go off into the sunset because reasons. Meanwhile Donald Trump has been shown to be relatively well for his age and hasn't had any real issues in terms of his mental capacities compared to Joe.

I agree, Biden was never a mental heavyweight to begin with so it's even worse for him now. Really do not understand why they ran him of all people when it was clear he wasn't capable of handing a position as demanding as POTUS.

Maybe they honestly figured Obama would be running the show behind the scenes, but none of the decision making by this administration demonstrates any kind of competence. I didn't really agree with many of Obama's policies but he was fully competent mentally and physically and made logical decisions.

That being said there's just no way Trump will have the mental or physical capability for this job at that age...he's not exactly the picture of physical health himself and it takes a toll no matter what.
