Pastadome - A place for friends who are being too friendly in other threads.

I never said Covid was a hyperlethal vector, and I don't need to. It's not a lethal enough vector, in my opinion, to risk the use of HCQ and the damage it might cause for no benefit whatsoever. The gap in mortality between Malaria and Covid is very, very noticeable.

I find it hard to believe that the data that hospitals gathered from the frenzied hysteria with which the masses immediately ran to HCQ wasn't shared with the FDA, especially considering, again, it's not a drug purpose-designed for coronavirus treatment. It would be a more cost-efficient solution, as we already have plenty of the stuff in circulation, as well as other derivatives and off-brands used for babesiosis treatment. Is it possible that a big pharma company lobbied the FDA to shut down trials so they could have their patent hit the floor? It wouldn't surprise me at all- there's a doctor working on a treatment that suddenly cashed out a LOT of his stock options just the other day, so it makes you wonder.

The FACTS are from the hospital workers and health-care professionals on the ground. HCQ doesn't have the benefit it's touted too, and the side-effects have been known for years. Regardless of how fucking stupid it would be to authorize a drug like this in the first place, they realized their error and walked it back for whatever reason.

Lots of drugs are used for reasons other than designed. I can't remember the name of it now, but there is a blood-pressure med used to treat nightmares/night-terrors in PTSD as an example.

The argument in the beginning was "Hydrochloroquine might be helpful, lets try it out and see what we find" but the FDA, Fauci, and Big Pharma all fought it hard because the drug is cheap and easily manufactured in the US without needing to be imported.

The evidence speaks for itself. If this virus was as big a menace as presented in Jan/Feb/March, all potential treatments should have been being explored, but Fauci and drug companies fought it then, and now the FDA is fighting it again.

the fact that you actually went out of your way to find my easy-to-find proof flatters me. you did it, detective! you sure found me out!

"Jokes on you, I was just pretending to be retarded"

If your biggest concern in a discussion on the internet is how many stickers you get for 'winning' or 'losing', you shouldn't be having the discussions. The purpose of discussion and debate is to educate and elevate the persons involved, and the thing I hate most about the modern 'woke wave' is that both sides have decided that DESTROYING FASCISTS/ PWNING THE LIBS >>>>>>> educating and sharing information and ideas.

But every 10,000th one is a scratch-n-sniff . . .

I don't disagree with that first point. It's been tried, and it's been found not to work, or if it does work, the side effects only exacerbate the problems rather than fix them. Why would the FDA *not* want cheap, easily manufactured American drugs. Big Pharma, with HQ's in switzerland and Europe, I can understand, but including the FDA in that is farcical.

Sounds like this thread needs a Panther take, AKA a balanced and reasonable one without left-right bullshit.

  • Don't listen to the federal government. Listen to the local government. Yea, all the information found in federal are sent to the states, but you know let's be real, I wouldn't listen to either of them on air. Just follow the law. Ignore the hysteria. Follow your own rules, set your own perimeters, just be responsible about this. Read up on it on your own. Don't let someone else tell you about it. Decide what info is good and what info is bad.
  • It was a dumb idea to promote surgical masks over N95s, which allow more breathing space. My problem with the surgical masks is that they conceal air and they make it harder for me to breathe. Every few minutes or so I feel I have to rearrange it to give it space and then it slides off my face or sweats and sucks in my face. I've had way more fun time using N95s because they have more benefits for me...although if I had the gall, I'd buy a mask with a brand on it. You know like a cartoon character or something. Maybe a funny message to make people cringe.
  • lol who cares about hydroclor-whatever. Yeah, some tests have proven it to be somewhat helpful in aiding someone to improve their condition, but it's not a definitive cure or ailment. It's somewhat helpful and it shouldn't be ignored completely in finding the true cure, but it's not definitive. Same with UV lights.
And that's all I gotta say.

On the contrary. Nigga, I've been losing weight. Dropped 16 lbs (198-182; went from slightly overweight to healthy weight) during this whole sha-bang-bang. I've never been healthier in my life than I have been now. I walk outside every day, exercise, I am a STRONG MAN.

The only reason why this happens to me is because it's hot outside and I fucking sweat a lot. And often the sweat absorbs the mask and usually having that trapped in one little piece of paper is a little annoying. Also, it scratches your face a lot. Paper and fabric like that irritate me because I have eczema. The plastic material from the N95s are much better than the sorta paper and fibers from the surgical masks.

Not only didn't they fight it, they issued an Emergency Authorization Use letter allowing it while whether it was useful or not was explored. It may have some limited use but it isn't some miracle at all.
