The US government in its entirety lied about Agent Orange and covered it up for decades, as well as had hundreds of drums in storage that were not destroyed until the 1990's, and then at Umatilla and Johnston Atoll. Those drums were handled by US troops and the VA and DoD and DoA denies that there could have been any risk for those troops.

DDT is somewhat the same, including having been used in 1991 on the areas that Log Bases were to be set up. The VA denies that there are any ill health effects associated with that DDT and other pesticide exposures.

The VA and the US government denies any health effects for living in the smoke from oil well fires for several months.

The VA and the US government deny any health problems associated with the handling of DU rounds, up to and including claiming that having embedded DU shrapnel is not harmful.

The Anthrax, Influenza, and Chickenpox vaccines were untested and used.

Additionally, the VA told me, when I went in for health care, NOT TO GET THE SHOT.

It's not quite a majority being African American. Firm anti-vax stances are about 20%, with about 7% being African American. They do make up the largest concentrated group by demographic though.
