i was reading about the court case and looked at a few documents. I saw that quasi said under oath something like he didnt make the forums to aid in harassing pat and and he didn't aid any users in doing so.

The point of said hearing is usually to show cause why you shouldn't be held in contempt. I'm not even sure Fatrick has a cause to show. Certainly not a good one. It seems like either way, he ends up incarcerated. He'd have one less place to waddle if he no-shows.

If he doesn't show he will definitely be jailed so showing is less about avoiding being found in contempt and more about avoiding a warrant or jail time as a sentence.

He definitely is going to approach the hearing as of it is an opportunity to relitigate the case. He'll probably be jailed both for contempt and for non-appearance. It's a "show cause" hearing which means the default outcome is him being found in contempt, unless he "shows cause" why he shouldn't be. So if he doesn't show, he's separately defaulting on his burden of proof (therefore losing the contempt motion) but also failing to appear, a separate offense.

If the judge wants at that point, he could keep Fatty in jail until he complies, however long that takes.

Judges are really reluctant to throw the book at you for being unable to pay a debt because of the whole Dickensian debtor's prison or workhouse cliche.
