PCJ answered some questions on a forum about Fatrick and some of the events.

I will have to dig back through this thread to find the links, but if I recall correctly, one thing PCJ made clear was that they (he and Ade) left the opportunity for Fatrick to meet and get to know the girl open, but he actually refused it.

Yes, in the original there is a Duga-inspired emitter at the end of the Red Forest map, guarded by Monolith. Under it is the Brain Scorcher lab. There's even a pun - when you shut down the Miracle Machine (in X-16) and the Brain Scorcher the achievement is "Duga Free" based off the Duga-3 radar system.

Something that always gives me the biggest of thunks is that his sister in law went to the police over this, and her and Kyle remained married for quite a few years after that. This suggests either this incident was of enough magnitude not to immediately harm their marriage, despite her making these very serious allegations to the police, OR that Kyle was familiar enough with Patrick doing things like this that it didn't faze him at all.

The woodpecker may have resulted in one of the first instances of shitposters fucking with a major government on a large scale - it was a massive nuisance for HAM radio enthusiasts, who you could argue were the prototype for internet spergs at the time, and a lot of them began actively trying to jam it and otherwise fucking with the soviets over the airwaves in retaliation.
