Eh, leave John Hersey out of it. Sure he wrote a rather famous book about a rather important WWII event, "Hiroshima" which Piggy the WWII expert has most certainly not read. Piggy's expertise derives from flipping through his high school library's copy of Life Goes to War: A Picture History of World War II. I cannot think of a shallower source of WWII history than this.
