So far as I know, statistically, Protestants, Catholics, and school teachers all violate about the same rate, with the same methods of covering it all up. There are horror stories about protestant churches all over the damned internet. Protestant denominations also include what is really just a single group of absolute whackjobs, lead by a charismatic pedo, for the sole purpose of pedoing with impunity.

That's simply not true. Protestantism has the same problem, and it's more prevalent simply because there are more Protestants in the US.

Pedophilia and molestation of minors by adults who are in positions of power over them is not a new thing that came around with the internet, shit is as old as time and also quite widespread. If anything, these things are now more prosecuted and damned than ever before.

A lot of you people are quite optimistic about what resources and possibilities law enforcement has to follow up on such stuff. As bad as that sounds.

To get us back on track: the reason they're so brazen about it on that forum is that child molesters tend to have lower IQs than normal. Nick Bate confessed online before his sister told her dad. However, I should point out, in the interests of fairness, that the culture is changing. There's an organization mentioned in that article, GRACE, that is doing a lot to try to bring the problem out into the open. Part of what they're up against is human nature. We find it hard to think ill of those who agree with us. In extreme cases, you get a Roy Moore situation where he openly admitted to doing inappropriate things, but people dismissed it because he 's anti-abortion and doesn't like gay people. But usually, it's just that no one can believe that Pastor Bob did things with 10-year-olds because Pastor Bob was smart enough to not brag about it. It's very much the kid's word against the adults, and we tend to believe the adult.

That in itself is a phenomenon worthy of study. Why are we so drawn to instances of people doing things that are irredeemable? Does it make us feel better about ourselves? Do we secretly wish we could do whatever it is they did? It's a mystery to me.

for this context specifically, i'm going to guess that it's a way of informing ourselves about the evils of the world from the comfort of our chair. it can also be related to how we use it to flex our sense of empathy, as in, to reassure ourselves that we are good upstanding people, unlike these pedoforks.

I sort of regret reading the reddit incest threads but my it's kind of like watching a trainwreck. But after reading everything, I'm convinced that it's someone LARPing their incredibly detailed incest/pedo fantasies. There's a lot of things that stick out to me as being just factually/scientifically incorrect despite the person saying they are "super smart and super well-educated". And mainly the way this person writes reads as incredibly masculine. I've never seen a woman, and especially a mom, talk like this and especially not of their own children. Even ones that are abusive themselves. The flowery prose reads more like Lolita which is narrated by the male main character. I think the person decided to LARP as a woman, and especially a mother because they (correctly) would think they'd receive less backlash from people. And Reddit is full of dumb, young teenagers that wouldn't be able to tell otherwise. And a large number of them are pedos/incest supporters anyway.

This is pretty much enough proof for me to realize this person has never had kids and is definitely not a mother and just read old psych journals about child sexuality, cherry-picked their info, and regurgitates it when fantasy LARPing. Anyone who has had a kid or has been around infants knows that hand coordination and body recognition is slow to develop. In fact, infants keep their hands in tight, closed fists until they are around 3 months of age. Recognition of their body being their own (Mirror test) occurs at 18 months of age. So this idea that an infant/child is inherently sexual is evidence of some seriously crossed wires. The physical body reacting (in the case of an infant erection) is apparently proof enough for this supposedly well-educated individual. Which is absurd, considering post-mortem bodies also react to physical and sexual stimuli. Rape victims can experience orgasms. They're completely ignoring an aspect of human consciousness. There's a reason why children being aware of their genitals in a sexual manner is a red flag for child abuse, because otherwise it's not normal. Even other animals don't see pre-pubescent offspring as sexual partners. It might seem that way since most animals reach puberty way more quickly than humans (less than a year for dogs/cats etc).

This is a very masculine way of defending yourself and trying to win an argument. Not that women can't talk this way, but it's uncommon. Women tend to use emotional arguments before logical ones in general, especially if they're talking about their own children which is inherently a very emotional topic. Also sperging off random scientific concepts just sounds like a typical redditor thing to do honestly.

Oh, and some further sleuthing reveals that before stopping the use of this account, the person enthusiastically and often posted in the r/sex subreddit about lesbians and lesbian sex with numerous crude responses. They seem to switch regularly between "sex is beautiful and a bonding experience" and "yeah wanna fuck that pussy i'm so wet" depending on what their persona is supposed to be conveying. Maybe i'm just being optimistic in my assessment and this person really is a batshit crazy pedo woman who grew up in a sex cult and is completely brainwashed. But considering sexual paraphilias such as pedophilia and incest is incredibly rare in women, I'm still inclined to believe it's a reddit sperg with an incredibly thorough fantasy life and too much free time. :optimistic:
