I was a step ahead, sorry. As a reluctant RetroidPocket tard the eternal use-Android-bro edge cases vs. the ecosystems more-preferred-OS-on-your-handheld discussions will have you stimming under a weighted blanket wondering why you didn't avoid this hell and just get a 2nd phone.

I've paid exactly once for a phone app. It was for a program that allows me to run a certain family of retro games on my phone. The main dev is known to just hand out free DL codes for anyone who asks politely, and the good will generated from that (and the general good functionality of the app) is what ultimately convinced me to pay for it.
