Might try a closeup of the coat of arms later.
I believe 9 months is still considered "later" - I got some stupid new equipment in and the kiwi coin has basically become my test target for all things macro before I go and annoy critters out in nature.
This is a stack of 40 photos taken in steps of 0.2mm, merged in Helicon Focus to capture maximum detail. The full image was about 266mb uncompressed so I used .jpeg even if it's lossy to bring it down to 35mb (still huge). This is ofc very autistic, but the detail is rather exquisite if someone is into that sort of thing and wants to really zoom in on the metal.

I'll include a small thumbnail of it as this refuses to thumbnail normally - click attachment for full res (might take a min to load)

You took it out of it's plastic :(.

I was just thinking about the kiwi challenge coins as a cost effective alternative to run if we ever do another silver coin run. Knowing how much of a hassle the silver coins were, I’ve seen several reputable challenge coin minting companies who do solid work. We could even vote on the lolcow to be minted on it (Like lolcow of the year)

Hell yeah I want a Kiwi challenge coin.
I was look through the form to see anyone had a idea or though about customizing a Kiwifarms challenge coin. Found this post 2 years ago, and I though about the same thing since I am a army vet was planning to customize my own when I was in service. Now that I am out, I might spend some spare time customizing a challenge coin for the Kiwifarms. I know Null love silver coin, lets see how he like the concept idea I have on challenge coin.

Story time! I bought two coins. In my head one would be for me, and then one would be to sell after 50 years or some shit.

Instead, the spare coin served a new purpose. For my daughters 5th birthday, her aunt gifted her a "memory box". Basically, its a small little box with a mechanical windup that plays "fleur de lis" with a little spinning ballerina figurine, with slots and little chambers to put little mementos into so that great childhood memories can be preserved physically into the far future of adulthood. Rather charming I'd say. A little toy won from the claw game at a chuck e cheese birthday party went in, a little spinny top that came from a party popper on christmas, that sort of stuff.

Then on a sudden stroke of realization I handed a 7 year old one of my kiwi coins. Put this in your memory box. Make this your memory of me. She legit started crying "i would never forget you". Put it inside anyway. True story.
