There are real fraud concerns in going the China route. As a former poster already said, considering it's a relatively small contract coming from a foreigner who presumably doesn't have a reputable expat connection to work through, your risk of being chinar'd is high. There are some ways of mitigating the risk, as @K'harl Bin Jahmin helpfully explained, but I'd still be wary of undertaking a venture with the inherent difficulties of (1) having to suss out which operations are least likely to scam in a country notorious for shady business practices, (2) a language barrier that will introduce unnecessary complication, and (3) zero options for legal recourse if something goes wrong.

As shitty as the UK is in its own way, you can have more confidence in the quality of the product, there won't be a language barrier causing confusion and frustration, and there's a far lesser chance of being scammed by an unaccountable fly-by-night operation.
