Everyone is at a different skill level in playing the old video games / vidya / vidja / electronic noise maker box and portable time killer. What things in video games have you accomplished, either something that was a developer made achievement, or something you accomplished on your own that you are proud of?

It doesn't have to be the most awesome thing in the world, just something you're proud of for you.

What is your best arcade video game score for a certain game you keep playing?

What's your best kill/death ratio on a certain shooter?

Did you intentionally or unintentionally troll another player on line to rage-quit in a hilarious way?

In such and such game, what is a good day or good performance you set for yourself?

Do you set any goals for yourself when you have a new video game to play such as play on hard mode first?

Do you try to "break" games for laughs and curiosity?

Example: - Back in the day I played the Sega CD version of Dungeon Master II using only one character instead of four in my second play-through. You had to deal with encumbrance, which initially wasn't a problem with four characters, but with one is a real difficulty. Also leveling up became difficult, but I managed to do it. I pulled this off just out of curiosity if I could do it. It was hard and a lot of grind but I had fun.

Example: - Played Star Wars Battlefront II on the PS2 and was playing the Hoth mission as the rebels. For some reason the AI rebels were derping out and dying left and right. I was left alone with the last command point in the ice base where the snowspeeders would spawn. The enemy took away every last rebel ally controlled by the AI, and it was just me versus like 30+ imperial spawned enemies. I somehow freaking won.

These above are small things, but you get the picture.

I've gotten 7 total platinum trophies on PSN, about to be 8 after I get this Hardcore Risette Fan trophy on Persona 4 Golden.

Said platinums include both Amazing Spider-Man games, Persona 5, Battlefield 4, Life is Strange (easy), this one indie game named "Teslagrad" (free on PSN one day, decided to get platinum because it was easy) and Final Fantasy XV.

Pretty proud of m'self on that.

When I was a kid I couldn't beat Tomb Wader on Crash Bandicoot 3. Then when I was an adult, I replayed the game and beat it.

That was a good day for me

My greatest achievement in games and life in general was killing three higher leveled warriors in Morrowind. It sounds unimpressive but in Morrowind it combines the aiming of a shooter with the dice roll of a tabletop game. So you have to be accurate and you can miss because their armor class is high compared to your ability stat. Also it did almost no damage, took about an hour of dodging, jumping, strafing, stabbing, hastily changing broken weapons, and healing, but i finally turned it on them and they ran after i got one of them, I managed to chase the other two down and got higher level loot and it all felt extra sweet because youre supposed to avoid higher level enemies so it felt genuinely heroic to kill enemies youre not supposed to fight and outclass you and getting loot youre not supposed to have but obtained

The ones that made me most happy were obviously my own, which are almost always either a very large and ambitious goal (clear the map in The Saboteur, get as high a percentage in Just Cause 2 as you can, etc.) or just plain old hard (beating strategy games on a high difficulty level when the deck is stacked against you.) That said, I don't dislike the pussy babby achievements that developers stick into their games. Just treat them like side-quests, an extra something for you to do if you want.

One that isn't as exciting now but was super fulfilling was killing the Lich King in WoW back when it was relevant. Was a huge victory with our laid-back raid group. Still remember posing on the throne for pictures. Deathwing an expansion later didn't quite feel the same. Stopped playing a while after that.

That and getting all the trinkets in VVVVVV was a whole lot of fun. I need more good platformers to play sometime. Those are the games I really go all in for getting achievements or collectibles.

The first game on Steam that I got 100% achievements for was Grim Fandango. That felt really good.

I used to do shit faced speedrunning of Super Punchout for the NES. Drink two ice cold 40's and a half pint of TAAKA vodka and try to beat my record.

I think my best time was under 18 minutes? Can't really remember. I was always drunk.

Can't really think of anything really amazing, but I felt pretty good after beating Mega Man 9 on Super Hero and Portrait of Ruin on Hard with level locked to 1.

As far as personal achievements go, can causing a game to glitch count? I was playing Ashes of Ariandel and I managed to get one of the ice crabs to get onto a branch (it literally managed to teleport so long as it was following me.)

For actual achievements I made myself, I can remember dying in Half Life 2 just as the autosave kicked in. Upon death, the game reloaded and the camera was close to the ground. All I could do was move it but never could actually move.

A much better one however lies in Armored Core 4: For Answer on the PS3. Normally in the game, taking missions means you'll get paid less than the amount posted depending on how much damage taken and ammo used. One particular mission, where I had to destroy fuck huge planes called Cradles (which house 20 million people), I managed to complete it with nothing but blades (energy blades don't count toward ammo used). Even better, I managed to get through without taking damage (especially since I used the most fragile parts which in turn made my mech boost much faster). Once 100 million people were all dead, I get a million credits with 0 deductions for ammo and damage taken.

At the end of Disc 2 of FF7, I essentially turned the Hojo boss fight into a duel between Mr. Crazy Scientist Asshole and Vincent. I gave Vincent my lone Ribbon to keep him from getting status-effect screwed and just beat the shit out of Hojo with him. Cloud and Tifa never acted in that battle except for Tifa using Sense a bunch so I could see Hojo's HP.
Just to put the icing on the cake, I ended the fight with Vincent summoning Bahamut and fucking nuking the shit out of Lifeform Hojo. ("This is for Lucrecia, you oily little fuck!" *KABOOOOOM!*)
...Why, yes, Vincent is my favorite character. Can you tell? :P

I remember feeling very proud of beating Halo 3 on Legendary.

Also getting gold crown on Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

I beat the Fume Knight in Dark Souls 2 after learning that this boss has a 93% failure rate. Maybe someday I'll beat Manus, too.

EDIT: I did it. I beat Manus and chopped off Kalameet's tail. I actually forgot Kalameet existed, but I went back and kicked his ass too. DLC complete!

When I was playing Dead Rising, I got two achievements for getting 3,500 points off of a photo that I took by accident. It was both amusing and kinda made me proud of myself, considering I never get achievements.

I remember once on Battlefield 3, I led the team and got almost 1/5 of the total kills in a game of TDM. It was a 500 kill to win game, so that was a fairly big number, heh.

Ooooof course, I was using an overpowered shotgun, buuut...

I got to Cool mode on Cheap Cheap's stage in Parappa the Rapper without even knowing it.

I remember discussing Luigi's Mansion with a high school friend and him saying that he beat it in 6 hours, but got the lowest treasure rating. I started timing how fast I could beat the game and as of yesterday my completionist run took just under 3 and a half hours and ended with the highest treasure rating. My previous speed run time was 3 hours so I'm trying to cut that down by a lot.
Now there IS a glitch that allows you to beat the game in less than ten minutes, but I'm not nearly patient enough to figure out how to make it work. :) I'm gonna stick with my non-cheaty times.
