I'm pretty sure this movie is original to Netflix, at least it seems to be.
I'm a total history fag and love period pieces, especially the Victorian and Edwardian eras. When I'd finished watching Steel Magnolias (fag, remember?) I was shown the trailer for this movie. I think Dakota Johnson is alriiiiiiight as an actress, plus the premise and setting looked interesting.
Imagine my shock when major characters are nogs of course. Her BIL is a black man, and she has two full black looking mulatto nephews. Bridgerton had pissed me off with the blacking of characters, but I'd kind of let it slide since I guess there are some rumblings among historians that Queen Charlotte was part moor? Bullshit I'm sure, but whatever, I wanted to enjoy it, shit!
Anyway, I seem to remember some show runner idiot (can't remember what show and what idiot) saying something along the lines that of course black people wouldn't be there, but they *should have been*, so it's an idealized retelling. Riiiiiiight.
I've been meaning to ask one of my teens what diversity and inclusion does to improve society or even just the immediate neighborhood. I know she'll have no response, these kids are indoctrinated to relax around blacks and to ignore their common sense when it comes to rapefugees because tHeYrE jUsT lIKe Us! but aren't told WHY we shoule be more diverse and inclusive. What does it help? We're minorities (though my first two are half white) and STILL I'm sick of this shit.
Back to the movie, it's not bad, I'm enjoying it, but every time I see the wooly headed little nephews I get knocked right out of it. I hate that. I want to not think and just be entertained, I don't want to think about ClownWorld and it's propaganda garbage. The love interest has a dusky skin tone, and I'm wondering if he's part pajeet. It's an okay watch if you're into history and like movies like this, but I wouldn't say sit your ass down and watch it right now or anything.
Maybe I'm just one of them Kiwi Farms rayciss people, I don't know.
