Kinkshaming appears to be a big buzzword on Twitter, so randomly, I decided to try typing that on YouTube and my first stop was this YouTube channel by one of these kittenplay fetishist types. At first glance I didn't think I'd find anything more than these YouTube vids and some Instagram content, but I noticed they were also on tumblr.

From here, I was able to uncover some crazy drama going on with the Kittenplay community on there, especially with this crazy black woman who had been picking fights with them there.

There's a lot more stuff if you go through the archive of this person. The drama I speak of started sometime ago and resulted in this person getting ostracized altogether from them. Thanks @hood LOLCOW for helping me find the best stuff.

At 1:20 of the first video she says that if you kinkshame you are not part of the bdsm community. Probably a wise decision to kinkshame then

There was seriously no Petplay thread on the Farms before? This fetish is one of the greatest factories of cringe material out there. Especially those puppyplay videos, good god.

Regarding the Kittenplay community, it's filled to the brim with emo girls who have low self esteem, dyed hair, a penchant for drama whoring, are easily triggered and dress like this:

I thought about doing a petplay thread initially and tried to find material for it like on Twitter and Facebook, but a lot of what i kept running into felt too general to me and not as interesting. I thought kittenplay would be a bit more specific.

Never mind, I changed the focus and scope to include Petplay in general. You are right.

Depends on the individual, but it's usually less about pretending to be an actual animal and more about being forced to dumb shit while wearing kitty/dogs ears and collars. However, like any other deranged fetish community, many of these pet play fetishists are more than willing to dabble in the latter.

A lot of what I saw involved some kind of BDSM in it. Some of the people in it were into that aspect and other parts of it cross over to more commonly known fetishes around here, like adult baby stuff.

Not sure if it's just because of my involvement in the fandom creating some kind of bias, but most of the people into pet play that I've come across, both online and in real life, are also furries. It's a fairly sizable part of furry conventions at this point. If you go to one, you'll probably see someone at some point dressed up like the guy with the creepy rubber full-head dog mask in @hitler_dindu_nuffin's post.

Honestly, I think the fandom's passive acceptance of people involved in this fetish doing stuff out in the open at cons is one reason the fandom has trouble shaking the "furries are sex crazed perverts" thing. Kind of hard to downplay that when you can walk into a con hotel on a Saturday night and there's a pretty high chance that you will see someone in a harness and one of those stupid masks on a leash. It creates a bigger problem when the con organizers are part of it too.......

I know a couple of people who are into it, and I just don't understand it at all. I guess maybe it's because I don't like completely wasting my time, and doing stupid stuff someone tells you to do while you're pretending to be a dog seems like a colossal waste of time???

This thread got me curious so I did a little looking around myself. It looks like it's not always someone telling them what to do though. Now at least I've got an explanation for this one girl I know. Acts like a cat. Eats like a cat. Even grooms herself like a cat. Her BF doesn't tell her to do anything, thinks it's weird as hell, but let's her keep doing it because when he makes her act normally, she's a raving bitch. And when she's horny, holy hell she acts like a horny cat.

After watching this girl, and trying to understand wtf this even is, I notice there's a lot of overlap between furries, sex fetish, and the Tumblr version of otherkin.

I guess this is what we end up with when all 3 come together into a perfect shitstorm.

There's a site that documented the Folsom Street fair, and wow were there a lot of petplay people there. Pretty much a bdsm furry convention with more naked pricks waving around that you could shake a 10ft. barge pole at.

I've known people who were BDSM subculture types and I only ever knew in a general sense they were in that scene. They did not bug me with every single little fucking detail of their degeneracy, so I let it slide and they were otherwise chill people.

It's one thing to be a bunch of perverts and it's another thing to be so fucking autistic you think it's okay to perv out in public, and an even different thing for your whole subculture to be so autistic that you think it's okay to have that be the public face of your public gatherings.

This is why people are okay with "normal" fetishists and why furries are despised objects of mockery.
