First I had one of these adorable iguana:

Then a more majestic iguana:

I remember one night the big one got out, and freaked mom out. Its about 2 AM, you get up for some water, and there's an adult iguana clinging to the wall. He crawled back down to me when I reached for him. He was a lovely lizard.

I've got a dachshund named Rocky and a pug puppy named Dottie. Technically I also have a chihuahua mix named Pompeii that was my Dad's, but he's also my Mom's dog and he's, well...he's a little strange. I also have a 125gal fish tank, freshwater.

Last month, my cat passed away and I haven't really been able to talk about it openly. He'd broken his leg and when we brought him to the vet, they discovered he had a relatively large tumor that had engulfed one of his kidneys. We went ahead to fix his leg before we tackled the tumor and he'd been doing well, but about 5 days after his surgery, he was OK to go home, where he passed in the car about 2 minutes away from the house. He was 12 and I miss him lots.

I still have my bun, so here's him being cute. He was watching Top Gear (UK, fuck the US one) and for once, not being a giant turd.

Sorry about your loss Wombat. It's always hard to lose a pet.

Did you have to move his 10 ton cathouse?

Jokes aside I'm sorry for your loss. One of my cat's died in August and i'm still pretty sad about it.

I'm so sorry about your loss, Wombat. Losing something so dear is always hard.

Since our lease doesn't allow pets, I've sort of adopted my in-laws animals as my own.

Cheyne, a dump cat. My father-in-law rescued her from the compactor in his work truck. She had survived the first compaction, and nearly went through a second before he heard her mews.

Ali, a blue heeler. She's pretty old, fat (due to free feeding at a younger age), and hobbles when she walks. She's still sharp as a tack and is a pretty damn good guard dog.

Sayo, a chihuahua. She's also fat due to thyroid issues. Generally hates everyone except my in-laws and me.

Penny, a red heeler. Dumbest dog I've met. Will run into incoming vehicles, generally not listen, and is fearful of strangers. She's very active and is generally a happy dog. She was the runt of the litter, so she's still pretty small.

Bonus: Toby, my mixed breed back home in Nebraska. Very active, very spoiled, and very much missed. Adopted him from the breeder after we put our poodle down. He's very friendly and loves attention.

I have a fluffy, wonderfully stupid, and old (14 years) dog named Taylor. I didn't name her, mind you. She is my baby. I call her Nubs. I haven't seen her in a month since I went away for school, and I miss her desperately.

This my favorite picture of her.

My condolences for your loss. I've lost many beloved pets as well, and I know how frustrating and depressing it is to try so hard to rescue them from illness, only to have them die on you.

I took in two new hermit crabs today, that makes 5.

Have you considered painting numbers on them and racing them? Because I sure as hell would. :D

One of our outside cat had four kittens at the end of July or beginning of August. One went MIA, so we have three left.

Tiger - a female tortoiseshell, named in honor of our 13-year-old tortoiseshell. I brought the kitten in the house to play with, and the older Tiger hissed at her :/ my brother is going to adopt her once he gets a permanent job

Mickey - a male gray kitten with swirls like his dad; he's really friendly; he's named in honor of our big, fat 12-year-old gray cat

Marshmallow - a male white kitten with gray ears and a gray tail, and barely perceptible gray tabby stripes; my brother is also going to adopt him once he gets a permanent job; our neighbors were going to adopt him but backed out; my mom has started to call him "Mellow" because he has an easygoing personality

We made a kitten playpen for them out of cardboard boxes on our porch, but they're starting to climb out. We're going to have to figure out what to do with them soon.

Paint isn't good for them because it can flake off and they can eat it and die. But I could get lil sticky notes and put them on their shells.
I don't have any trouble telling them apart normally though

Yes. A thousand times yes. Then you can run a massive crab-racing gambling ring by live streaming it. "REVENGEOFPHIL'S CWCKIFORUMS OTB."

Instead of a loan shark we could have a loan chu.

I have a dog named Pumpkin and two brother kittens named Teddy & Charlie.

Pumpkin looks like a hyena (she even has the craziest ears) and Teddy & Charlie are grayish, with Charlie having white patch on this face and chest.

I have always loved cats, so when one of my friends from #sonichu had some spare kittens, he gave me one. Her name is Anne. Or Bland. Or Egg. Something like that, anyway.

I can never close the bathroom door, or she'll pester me and scratch at the door. In this picture, she was relaxing in my sweatpants while I was taking a shit. Yeah...

I can't leave any toilet paper or paper towels or anything like that out where she can reach them, or she'll shred them.

And here she is, sleeping underneath my desk.
