PewDiePie announces break from YouTube because he's 'very tired' - PewDIEpie

The Christchurch thing fucked him up bad, and then that whole thing with the ADL happened. And his fanbase is mostly 16 year old faggots. He has enough money to never work a day in his life again and live comfortably, so I can see why he'd do this.

if Trump wins 2020, then Google will have to either relax their censorship policies (since they would obviously have failed) or

Hahaha as fucking if. When Trump wins all the screeching from the left is going to get cranked up to 15 and all these Silicon Valley companies will go completely ape shit with the censorship.

Hahaha as fucking if. When Trump wins all the screeching from the left is going to get cranked up to 15 and all these Silicon Valley companies will go completely ape shit with the censorship.

One of the main reasons why Google in particular is pushing hard on the censorship in the lead-up to the 2020 Election is because they don't want opposing ideas to get out and they don't want to give Trump any accidental free publicity like they did in 2016.

A Trump victory would mean all their efforts would be in vain and after a period of Silicon Valley going apeshit, there's a chance they'll loosen the censorship a bit to keep the crowd satisfied while they reconfigure their plans. Not saying it's a guarantee, but preventing a Trump victory is the main reason why Silicon Valley in particular are going all gung-ho with their censorship, both in the timing of it all and the severity of their measures.

If Trump wins despite their censorship efforts, they'll be forced to accept that 2016 was not a fluke (even if they won't publicly admit it)

If I was in his shoes I'd be afraid of walking away from the cash cow, even if all the changes will make things harder and less profitable. I'd want to ride it into the sunset. There can't be more than a few years left in the current streamer profit model before it gets radically shaken up, or Pewds gets taken into custody by the Swedish Cuck police and sentenced to a life of manually servicing a bunch of Arab penises because he said nigger one time.

But I can understand getting out while the getting is good. Maybe he thinks he can return and be just as popular- and maybe he can. For a "job" making millions a year I sure wouldn't want to take that bet, though.

I’ll take his channel if he wants.

I'd say he should have guest hosts but knowing his luck he'd have one of them do something to land him in hot water all over again.

I'd say PewDiePie is retiring for a multitude of reasons, including general boredom and disillusionment, and if he does want to go back to making YouTube videos again, this is a smart move on his part. It gives him time to relax and recharge his batteries and given how we've had three seemingly back-to-back YouTube crackdowns, he can keep his head down and avoid the worst of it while still going out on top.

PewDiePie is the most successful of the old-school YouTubers and is probably going to go down in history as the only one whose story has a happy ending as opposed to either ending in disgrace like Onision or fading into complete obscurity like most YouTube e-celebs.

It's also obvious that YouTube is getting increasingly draconian and corporate in the lead-up to the 2020 Election and if Trump wins 2020, then Google will have to either relax their censorship policies (since they would obviously have failed) or YouTube ends up in the same grave as MySpace, YTMND, LiveJournal, and countless other hallmarks of Web 1.5 culture

If PewDiePie doesn't return after the election, then he's probably retired for good. Either way, he's making a wise choice with this and I wish him the best.

I do wonder at what point will they realise this shit isn't working. I predict a 2026 Republican victory if they can't get their heads out of their arses.

Good for him. It's not good for someone to be one thing forever. On the off-chance he reads threads about himself - don't go from 90 to 0 too abruptly. I've done the work like crazy then suddenly stop to recover thing and it doesn't work too well. It's better to stay (almost) as active but to do something different.

My brother is one such person. He had a two week lay off between finishing at his old job and starting at his new one. I ran into a friend of his downtown who told me he went dropped in to see him that morning and he had started a dice football league in his dining room with ladders, stats, histories, ect. I imagine it looked something like that famous whiteboard pic from Always Sunny.
