It's probably the combination of actually moving around for once instead of rotting in her RV all day, having jet lag, not eating american """food""", and the copious amounts of alcohol she drinks when she travels abroad with fellow coworkers and friends.

Local allergens too. I saw a few people suggest she pick up some Ibaraki honey last time. Sounds retarded, but it works in my experience. Especially if you can get some before you go.

Also, sperg MATI rant from a guy that lives in one of the most touristy places on Earth: I hate how tryhard amerimutt women are when travelling abroad while at the same time acting like stereotypical amerimutts. There's no shame in being a basic bitch tourist, but don't try to LARP as if you're more cultured than the average Japan enjoyer and then, 2 minutes later, saying you went to fucking Starbucks, rode the Shinkansen, got several Ubers, shopped at 7/11 or went to cat/owl cafes.

You're in Tokyo, just go to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, Tokyo Tower, Senso-Ji Temple, climb up the Metropolitan Building and take some pics... It is where locals go as well. They're actually the most interesting places, why do you think there are so many people in there? Nakano or Saitama or Minato or whatever average Tokyo residential neighbourhood may sound cool and sophisticated to people who don't know about the place, but most of them don't have anything special, it doesn't matter how hard you try to pronounce it correctly in Japanese or try to sell people on how "authentic" they are.

Do you really want to live the "average japanese experience"? Then do what japs do and not what you think you should do because you watched it in anime, Instagram Reels or travel blogs. Buy an IC Card and take a Rapid train (i.e. the one everybody uses) to go from the airport to your hotel. Sleep at a business hotel. Eat at your closest Yayoi or local izakaya or whatever. Buy souvenirs at Donki, go to AEON to get some groceries, buy nerd stuff at a Book Off. Get a no-brand shitty 100¥ coffee from a vending machine. Walk around or take the metro, don't use fucking Uber.

Just don't be a hipster and embrace what you are: another tourist among millions. It really is that easy. You'll enjoy the trip a lot more and locals will appreciate it.

Famous with who? This guy is a 2view. People can get that many views just by being female and getting a clip or two made of you that's good. And given how Mari talks? She's going to go viral pretty fast for generally being pretty open with insane takes.
