I'm pretty sure he was the bigger name at the time mari got started years ago, and you can see he still gets some people from back in the good-old days to reply to his tweets. Mostly other D-list also-rans, but they aren't total unknowns.

For example, this guy, Krimbo, is loosely affiliated to Coqui through their South Side multimedia project. That's one degree of separation from somebody mari still regularly raids into. The fact is that mari probably did make some of her early connections among the other twitch tubers through her streams with Ascart. I don't think that justifies him acting like he has ownership over her later meteoric rise, but it isn't inconceivable to me that he thinks he's owed something for giving her an initial leg-up. And if you go back to some of those really early clips of her on his channel from 4 or 5 years ago, you're going to see a lot of familiar names in the on-screen chat - people who are still part of her community to this day. It isn't impossible that they came to her through him. Again, not that that matters - you have the audience you have, not the audience you had. Bet he's not mad at all that some of those old viewers went with the ex in the break-up though...

Knowing now he's related to Coqui makes me disgusted by her even more. Not surprised honestly.
I am actually repulsed by this. If he's still friends with Reinhard she's really dodging a bullet.

I do wonder why they're in japan so soon after having the JP girls over in the west too. I'm glad they aren't being neglected, even Iori and Nasa feel more included than they used to.

I don't think Mari's character is a well-thought marketing grift. I think she's just a BPD e-girl with daddy issues (as most vtubers are) and that was the path of least resistance to get noticed. At least she's self-aware. At this point I bet she genuinely believes in some of the shit she says and does and her vtuber persona is somewhat similar to her in real life. Otherwise people would end up noticing the inconsistencies or she'd slip up eventually (like Shiina with her fake voice a couple of years ago).

It's just an AIslop pic of Pippa IRL. She was spotted at TwitchCon 2024 because she was retarded enough to get a pic with a guy who was live on Twitch. Considering she looks almost identical to her doxxed pic from when she was 12 and considering how many autists are on her community... I don't know what she was expecting, honestly.
