What a fucking retard Sakana is. He pops this out the same year he's starting up a convention (obvious why its cuckifornia now).
In the worst time for it to be in cali when everything is extra pricey. Where 90% of his audience probably already hated going.
And he does this to one of his most liked talents over a fucking tepid minecraft post.

They fuck up shipping merch too. So there probably is a warehouse full of goods people have paid for that hasn't shipped yet. Depending on fan's responses Phase is going to go really red this year.

Problem is that Sakana forgets that Phase is a terrible company without the talents. They don't provide anything to the consumers. The merch is horribly overpriced, the shipping is expensive and always late (I've heard of even year long delays, I think), and everyone including the talents agree that the coffee is terrible. The shipping is really a big deal though. Jelly's birthday was over two weeks ago, and Sakana hasn't so much as handed the merch over to be shipped.

No other company could get away with this. I understand that small corpos tend to do everything more expensively. That's one thing, but they tend to compensate for it in other ways (niche bookstores offer rare or banned products, or add in bonuses to your order, niche tea shops always try to get into the same hobbies as their customers and offer constant discounts, and so on. I'm sure you all have more experiences). Phase is just bad in everything but talents.

Sakana does have a great gut (if Lia is to be believed - in more ways than one), and his character appraisal of Rekieta was legendary. But Phase has been creating good will with its "hands off talent; hands on industry" approach, and reversing that is not great (as replies to their tweet show).

Nobody wants a "brand safe" Lia or "brand safe" Hime or "brand safe" Jelly. If people want "brand safe" they go to Hololife. I have to again point to this clip, and Sakana needs to really watch it:

This whole bureaucratic blame method sucks. It won't work out well for Phase in the long run even if it is popular among corporations.

There is no "Phase brand". Conventions hate Phase no matter how much money Fishman throws at them. Obviously, I'm generalizing, but Phase is filled with women that no one else would hire. The appeal of Phase talents is that they are different - not normal. Phase talents don't do brand safe. Hell, one of the more recent streams Hime did was take her chat on a date while she played (too organically, I might add) a mentally ill landmine woman who threatened to kill herself and chat every dozen minutes. She will never be brand safe and if she ever were, she'd be discarded.

She would do well to remember that. There's dime a dozen "brand safe" girls on Tik Tok and Youtube, and there is a boatload independent vtubers that do nothing but spout acceptable opinions. They aren't popular. You don't watch an indian man getting hit by a train because you think that what the indian did was wise.

I don't think that this is the end of Phase, because ultimately it doesn't matter, but throw in a handful of "it doesn't matter" events, and it starts mattering after all. If nothing else, I'll give Sakana props that this has been a very rare occurance in Phase.

Only Holo EN is like that. Gura's last straw (that she shared with us) was being chided for being a "brand risk." She became afraid to stream. That anxiety hasn't left her. Jelly might end up fucked up like that from being called a racist by her company. Hope not, but she is fragile.

Actual Hololive is extremely weird, more so than Phase, as "yab" as Idolcorp was. It's also so overwhelmingly sponsored it's become annoying to about half the fans and talents.

"Brand risk" is a Western brainworm, stronger than any Japanese corporate autism. I'd call it a mass hysteria. Entire industries are killing themselves over it, with no sign of an end.

It's one thing to be brand safe when you have a brand to risk. Phase doesn't. Every one of their talents are a brand risk (and are already hated by the industry anyways), and people have little good words to say about other Phase related things. Sakana is good at character assessment. He is good at knowing that if you cut a tree, you need to plant one in its place (hence why he keeps reinvesting Phase's profits into conventions and stuff), but he isn't really good at resolving delicate problems.
 
Very disappointed with fishman. I don't watch Phase because the talents are paragons of virtue. I watch it because it's a bunch of unhinged women saying insane shit.

I don't think Sakana understands what his brand actually is.

It's funny because the troons and dramafags are digging up other yab clips and posts and opening fire right now, this is definitely a massive fumble.

It could also agitate the chud-coded fans to go after the more progressive (suspected or confirmed) members as well. Good job Kevin, -10/10 for effort

It's probably why he did this since the convention is in Commiefornia and he doesn't want drama during their first con.

I doubt it's fishman's idea because it's not in line with past behavior. I'd guess its a female manager trying to placate the various cliches like cumbun and the cosplayers, maybe sponsors and some gay fags i can't remember in order to keep phase con alive.

fags and trannies go to cons so they'll get priority attention. I don't know what the overlap of con goers and phase whales is.

the only explanation compared to how they handled hogwarts or other culturally insensitive takes in the past.

In the end, phase should've hired crisis and other cosplay fans instead of pros and trannies.
 
I hope Tenma emerges from her cave, beats up all the troons and con thots who've ruined Phase and sprays beer all over Fishman
