chinese-jewish is a typical hapa combo, we all know elliot rogers but there was also that chinese jew woman who went on facial abuse and dmca'd the farms.

but her soviet expat story didn't make sense when you consider how much time she talks about china or went to the mainland.

Yeah the Jewish faith is inherited from the mother, so a child of a Jewish woman, is Jewish by default. One can also convert or be raised into it.

Where it gets complicated is with ethnic Jews (and the many subdivisions), because even if that's the law, the genetics don't care about that. So one can have Ashkenazi genetics in you, but not be practicing (or perhaps to have never practiced). But those genes do trace back to a common community.

Bringing it back to Lumi, it's interesting when she talks about her family not typically divorcing in this clip:

I kinda knew something was wrong not because of that but because iirc Lumi has also stated that her family is Catholic while she is personally an atheist. Russians aren’t usually Catholic but a Jewish convert to Catholicism might make more sense.

That’s a possibility too, my theory is that her dad descends from Russian Jews that fled the Pale of Settlement for America during WW1 and that’s where she gets the idea of being part Russian from. Whether he was already Byzantine Catholic or converted to Catholicism later is up for debate but if he’s ByzCath that would give credibility to the former.

I thought people found the family tree for the noble general she talked about, and there was a descendant who matched her profile.
