Anyone who has lost a friend or relative to suicide will probably tell you that they made the decision to off themselves without making a huge song and dance about it.

Blame the kiwis if you want Phil, but maybe you should take a look at your own behaviour, and try to work out why you have to resort to bleating about being an hero to get attention from people who have done nothing tangible to help you.

Yeah I've heard of people putting a gun in their mouth and taking it out when they see a picture of their daughter or something but I don't think there's many people at that point who would say "Whoa whoa, hold up. I gotta see what FaceBook has to say about this first".

I would go as far as to say that most people who have seriously considered suicide don't make a big song and dance about it. I've shared Edward Arlington Robinson's poem "Richard Cory" before, but it is the perfect illustration of how it usually happens.

Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean favored, and imperially slim.

And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked.

To make us wish that we were in his place.

If Phil wants to "Telegraph" his suicide plans, he's literally doing it for the attention, and that is insulting to anyone who's a survivor. All these asspatters are doing is giving him what he wants and reinforcing the idea that this kind of thing is not just okay, but an easy way to maximize his oppression points. Fuck him, fuck them, and fuck him again.
 
Feeling suicidal comes from an impulse of feeling redundant, unwanted, or useless. You feel suicidal because you feel like you're in the way or a burden, and if people know about your plans then that further reinforces those feelings. They'd feel obligated to help you, and you don't want that. You want to relieve them of that burden.

Phil, in contrast, wants to be everyone else's burden. The fact that he talks so much about suicidal impulse only reinforces the fact that he's unlikely to ever follow through with it. At least, not while there's still balls to cut off and milkshakes to drink and more filthy skin to tattoo with Google-translated magic marker drawings.
 
Yeah, this kind of behavior merits a sigh or an amused chuckle at most. I knew a guy just like ADF once, in personality at least. Towards the end of our association he would threaten suicide about once a week, to the point that it would often spark an impromptu discussion on the merits of certain methods and their relative applicability to his situation. I just can't wait until his current circle of friends finally get compassion fatigue; none squeal so loud as those who're trying to convince themselves that people are still listening.

These public suicide threats seem to come pretty regularly after he gets he gets embarrassed socially like with the recent "fuck you" to all transmen status he posted. He really couldn't be more transparent about the purpose of these woe is me posts.

Neither of my two family members that committed suicide, telegraphed at all. All we got was a phone call immediately before hand.

Phil isn't going to ever do it. It's just more of the "look at me" bullshit.

kind of annoying that people on his friends list are still taking the bait at this point. didn't he also issue one of these after he decided to remind the world his true feelings about black people after Zhane called him out on his shit? Or am I thinking when he realized online asspats do not equal real world help and then he got Kinny to get someone to take him in for a night? Starting to get ADF continuity mixed up.
