I agree with this pretty much. You can have harmless trolling where the goal is an over the top reaction to something innocent, all the way to trolling with the intention to hurt somebody physically, emotionally, or financially. Liquid Chris vs Bluespike is a classic example.
I guess, like autism, trolling is a spectrum.

Yeah but "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down" was originally a Japanese saying, and look at where they are now.
