In Morrowind Orcs and Nords had roughly similar stat spreads with a couple differences. The Orcs, however, get an awesome +10 to Heavy Armor and a bonus to Armorer that no one else got (Armorer is a fucking pain in the ass to raise due to the nature of Armorer's tools, the constant need for damaged equipment to repair in order to raise it, and IIRC the Master Trainer for Armorer is impossible to find in-game without shenanigans/patches). They also get the coveted Magicka Resistance at 25 percent - not as good as Bretons but still pretty damn great. Nord resistances are OK (basically immune to Frost, and 50 percent resistance to Shock) but they're not really damage types that get thrown at you a TON in Morrowind unless you dip into Bloodmoon. The Nord Woad ability is an OK Shield ability but pales next to the Breton's Dragon Skin.

That Resist Magicka alone makes Orcs insanely good, makes it easier to boost it to immunity or near-immunity so you can engage in shenanigans with the Boots of Blinding Speed and laugh at any mage who decides to get uppity with you. The Berserk ability Orcs get can be useful in a pinch as well, and IIRC because it has multiple effects it's slightly more useful for spellcraft than the Nords' Woad and Thunder Fist abilities.
