(I did a search and didn't find a thread about this, although results might have been tainted by recent news, so to speak. If there is one, please merge.)

So, what kind of piercings do you have? Anyone have a taint piercing? What about otherwise lewd piercings?

I have my nose and right ear. My ear was gauged to 20mm, and is probably about 14mm now, but I don't really wear a spacer in there much these days, after my other one got ripped out.

Over the years I've had both sides of my lip, my septum, scaffold at the tops of both ears, top and bottom of navel, many more...

Once I started getting tattoos I just kinda stopped getting them, and started taking them out. I don't think I'd get another now.
Although I have had a strange compulsion to get my taint pierced these past couple of days. :left:

I got drunk and somehow got convinced to pierce my ear with a safety pin. Needless to say, after a month of washing my ear out with saltwater, I didn't try it again.

When I was a kid, girls would get their ears pierced by their mothers, who numbed the earlobes with ice cubes and then stabbed them with a ice picks. Does this still happen?

Just earrings. My holes have probably closed up though. I don't want any more piercings myself, but I do like them on guys.

That sounds kind of scary and brutal. :( I've never heard of such a practice until now. My ears got pierced by one of those piercing guns that pierce the ear with the earring itself.

Having lobe piercings are as edgy as I get.

I pity the people who gauge their ears really large. It is a bar to employment to a lot of professional jobs. My roommate took his 8 mm gauges out over a year ago, the holes still gape maybe 2 or 3 mm.

The good thing about a taint piercing is you can wear it discreetly. The bad thing is if your professional job involves sitting at a desk all day, it may cause it to become infected.

I had both ears pierced when I got out of high school and then got my nipples pierced a few years later. (Group of friends went to get tattoos. I didn't want anything permanent.)

The nipple piercings were awful. People seemed to think that I loved having them pulled on. They were constantly rubbing against my shirt, I couldn't carry anything close to my chest. It was awful. I took them out before I moved to this country. My nipples are a bit more sensitive now but they're ugly.

I thought about getting another (PA) but after remembering what the nips were like, no more for me.

Got my nose pierced a month or so ago (has it been that long already? Wow.) and I have my ear lobes gauged out to 00's, probably gonna take them down to 7/16th's so I can get pencils through the holes when I wear tunnels.

My mom pierced mine when I was a kid, essentially using this method, though there wasn't any ice involved. She basically took a thumbtack and a potato and impaled each lobe. I was like, 15 at the time, so it didn't really hurt. Sometimes I see babies with pierced ears though, it seems kinda jacked to do it that young, and I'll just find myself hoping that it didn't involve the methodology my mom employed.

When I was 15, my grandma took me to get my ears pierced at a Claire's like place. Since then I've gotten my eyebrow and lower lip (snake bites) pierced back when I was trying to be "edgy" with my ex-husband. I also got my lobes re-pierced with a needle so I could gage with holes that weren't closed up. I miss the eyebrow ring but I'm really glad I stopped at a 12 gauge for the ears.

I've got no piercings, and not any real desire to have any. I think that I'd just end up looking silly. It looks good for some people, but I don't think I'm one of them.

But my wife and two eldest daughters all have traditional ear piercings, and my youngest will probably get hers pierced when she gets a bit older.

I have two in each ear, though I usually only wear one pair. When I was on my second set I got lazy cleaning them, so one hole still gives me trouble.
It took me ages to work up the nerve to get my first set though! My best friend had hers pierced when she was a little kid, and for some reason they kept closing up and she'd have to get them re-done. I assumed that was just part of having pierced ears; getting them re-opened occasionally. I was with her once while she was getting them done at Wal-Mart, and she was crying in pain and there was blood going down the side of her face. Scared me away from getting mine pierced for nearly a decade!
I like lip piercings, but a friend of mine kept chipping his teeth on his. I really septum piercings but I'm a weenie and they look painful.

I got my ears pierced at the pediatrician's office. I haven't worn earrings in a long time, though. I kinda want to wear them again.

I had thirteen piercings in each ear from lobe to pinna because I was a goth nerd in high school. Amazingly, nine holes on both sides are still open, even though I haven't worn a full set in years.
