I love Godwinson but I don't think that the Newproject2 guntshielding is the reason why they guntshielded Dick. Ralph makes fuck all on Newproject2 compared to what he gets in super shekels.

Jim makes a $742 which is a nice amount of passive income but again, nothing compared to what he makes via his streams and I'm sure that massive cashed up cows like Mike Boudet have probably sent Jim a couple thousand via his paypal at many points. But I don't think that Jim really cares about this stuff anyway, I don't remember him even acknowledging the Mumkey drama either.
You could make the argument that they want to keep Dick on side because Newproject2 is their only option if Patreon shoahs them but realistically people like Sargon use Thinkspot and Sam Hyde uses Gumroad. When Dick was talking to Milo and a cohost (I think it may have been Flamenco or Gator) mentioned Newproject2, Dick was pretty quick to say that he'd love for Milo to be on there but he doesn't think that the platform would be able to sustain the heat from Milos detractors. Newproject2 also periodically loses it's ability to process transactions, I like that it exists but it's not going to last forever.
It's obvious that the crossover between the two shows and keeping Dick on side is the beneficial reason why. Also I think Ethan rightly realises that if he went after Dick it would end in a decisive victory for Dick. Ethan getting Dick on his show has only ever increased his supershekels and his viewership with the venn diagram of shared lisenership swelling in size after Dick going on the show for over a year.
Also, the Jamie-Lyn Hughes stuff was also known about since around May 2018. I remember when she went into the Dick Show IRC and just started telling everyone. We all already knew, Dick has never acknowledged it on his show because he went after Maddox for apparently wanting to try "polyamory" and he would have come off as very hypocritical for actually being poly back then.
That is not to say that the leaks don't really have legs, people have been clowned on for far less. They would have had a whole lot more mileage out of them if they weren't being championed by Jesse. It's sad because Cameron Clarke who is a troll of the Dick Show is much funnier than Jesse and much more effective at soliciting reactions from the fanbase.
Regarding those speculating about Dick having mental problems I have noticed that Dick has become gradually angrier, more hysterical and kind of meanspirited in less of a funny way. At the same time he's promoting people who are shit to positions of power within the community. People like Riley who is a fat faggot who spends his entire waking existence on Twitter and Discord. Riley is infamous for going to Road Rage (Dick Show IRL meetup), spending all his money on alcohol and then making a gofundme saying that he is going to be homeless.

He used to be in control of the CUNT Network (C U Next Tuesday, which was a catchphrase used at the end of The Biggest Problem and The Dick Show) Twitter account which was supposed to just be a feed where all the new episodes from The Dick Show sphere of podcasts would be posted. However, he spammed the shit out of that feed with his political hot takes, it got so bad that his access to the account was removed.
