benzos are stupid as fuck. taking them recreationally is fucking retarded and anybody that does it deserves to OD and fucking die, especially if they drink at the same time.

you take one, get a bit woozy, think you're not quite feeling it, so you take another and suddenly - you wake up 16 hours later with no memory of what happened or how many more you took. never done it myself but have known a few people this happened to.
maybe i'm not cool enough or something, but I fail to see how that can be fun in any context

that's not even mentioning how benzo withdrawal can shape up to be weeks of horrifying schizo nightmares

It's hard to explain just how fucked Ralph is without powerleveling a bit. I think a lot of people underestimate the level he's gotten himself to, even with all the jokes about it. Even quitting just weekend warrior drinking will leave lasting effects for a year+ if you've been doing it for quite a while. Your head doesn't just clear up, and during that time, it's really bad, even with a comparably low amount of drinking.

And that's JUST drinking. That alone is extremely difficult, and if the amount of xanax he's taking is really at 10mg, well... There are countless people you can find online claiming they experienced post acute withdrawal symptoms for well over a year. Impulsivity, mood swings, cold sweats at night. This shit will be hard to deal with for anyone, let alone someone that has no tolerance for discomfort in the slightest.

He's fucked, badly, if he's not exaggerating. His only possible income is streaming. Is he going to stream his cold sweats and withdrawals? He won't be capable of anything but rolling around in a bed for quite some time, even with medical detox. He doesn't have the money to just disappear like a celeb for 90 days.

He really is going to have to "die before aborting the retort" at this point.

Xanax is one of the 3 main benzos that people are prescribed for to help with severe anxiety. And of those 3, it's the shortest acting. It's good for people who deal with panic attacks moreso than a baseline anxiety, since it will help pull them out of the spiral of a panic attack, but not affect them long-term. In general it's easier to convince a doctor you suffer from panic attacks than have a baseline anxiety, so it's easier to get a script for Xanax which is why it's more common for people like Ralph to have Xanax(alprazolam) and not something like lorazepam or Clonazepam (I think that's the one) that lasts longer. It also doesn't take an hour to start working, half hour at most. An as-needed drug to help with anxiety that takes that long to kick in would be useless.

This is the biggest W Ralph has been handed in a long time. It would have been easy to just start reading the DM's and go over the leaks while milking the paypigs for jim hate dono's. But instead is got completely shitfaced by 1pm and let vickers and the sneedchatters get in his head.
