Except for him being a doting father until we ran away from him, I see a lot of shit that my dad does in Ethan:

• gaslighting
• unrepentant cheating & promiscuity (he'd fit in with Jersey Shore guidos)
• projects & accuses you of what he's done/doing
• misogyny
• controlling & abusive (sexual, verbal, emotional, psychological). Has made threats to kill exes (has many. Read the list & you'll understand why)
• painting himself as & believes to be an eternal victim
• blaming others for things he said/did & things that have gone wrong in his life (consequences are an alien concept to him)
• burns bridges wherever he goes
• refuses to admit wrongdoings & the very rare time he does he says "well you provoked me, you like for me to hit/insult you"
• lying & acting is as natural to him as breathing. Exaggerates stories.
• emotional, irrational & incongruous response to even something small or innocuous. Quick to anger, triggered easily.
• manipulative yet oddly able to be manipulated easily. He's putty in your hands when you tell him what he wants to hear. Which leads me to...

Dude, my mom had a psychotic break that lead to full ass schizophrenia when I was like four. We wuz poah, too, so it’s not like she went to live in any kind of psychiatric facility. I dun seen some shit.

Now I’m an adult with stable relationships and stable work history, etc etc etc everything is fine.

I don’t think I would be, if I spent a lot of time wallowing in material that pre-validated grievances I hadn’t even thought of, yet. Just get out of that whole part of your head.

When you accept responsibility over yourself, you grant yourself the ability to improve. If you make it someone or something else’s fault, then you tend to sit around waiting and complaining at those things to change.
