Pardon my nosiness but if you are open to it I would highly recommend looking into the Love and Logic books. They have a website and resources for parents and educators and I can personally attest to its effectiveness in building respect and positive relationships with challenging kids. At ten months, I would expect to see crawling, sitting up on their own (have to sit by them, though, so they don’t fall over and hit their head), lots of hand stuff like picking things up and shaking them, having at least single words.

I mean it's hard to judge because Ralph doesn't want Cozy Rozy stealing his spotlight but the fact that we have never seen that kid with any expression other than a blank one, or variations of bewilderment, is highly concerning. That's usually a sign the kid is gonna have serious trouble moving forward. Not just autism, but the kind of nonverbal, shit flinging, constant screeching and making noises autism.

The other explanation for behavior like could be some sort of hypoxic injury but there's no real evidence of it because if the kid had been injured there would be more obvious signs to go with it.

But the general disconnect from the world she has is incredibly alarming. When is the last time they took that kid to a pediatrician?

Ralph isn't going to be able to handle the next 12 months of Rozy's life. My daughter just recently turned 2. The first six months of a baby are wonderful. They're just cute little blobs. They start developing and if they have both parents they need you. The mother especially needs you. Baby also accentuates whatever other issues you had with your woman. After my daughter turned 1 the house became an actual nightmare with my old lady and I constantly going at each other and nearly splitting. We ended up going to therapy as we didn't want our daughter to grow up in a broken home and we both believed this was fixable despite deeply resenting each other. It worked but we still have difficult days because our daughter is a walking talking toddler now who is very emotional and clingy. Rozy should be crawling, standing and cruising (which is where babies walk by holding onto a coffee table or sofa edge to navigate around rooms), some babies are walking at this age but plenty wait till they are a year old. She should also be babbling a lot, maybe saying a few basic words.

All I’ve seen Rozy do is sit, stare and cry.
