This was discussed elsewhere with varying positions, most of them skewed towards Ralph is too unhealthy/broke/selfish.

The synthesis of everything is that it's possible (but probably unlikely) that Ralph got an insurance policy as he claimed but if he did it probably didn't require a physical exam and he either lied on it or will die in such a way that will invalidate the claim regardless.

I generally believe his statement that he did, along with the above mentioned points about his theoretical policy. My belief is that Ralph always embellishes or minimizes but rarely outright lies.
