Remember that clip where Ralph was watching a lady explain Mexican culture and how she said that most people dont speak english and you have to put in the work to learn spanish? Instead of calling her a bitch, whore etc. maybe you should have learned some of the basics.

Edit: He wasn't swatted. Before this the cop accused him of calling them, he denies it, they ask for his phone, they show him the call history where he called, and he still denies it.

I really hope someone confirms this. As of now both scenarios seem almost equally possible to me.

So far from what I can tell they’re starting out with saying something about how bad it could of gone if they weren’t around to respond to the call, not sure about it.

At around 2:00 the woman seems to have not understood ralphs requests to be on an no-swat list.

Around 5:00 they repeat the same thing about how easily things could have gone badly if they were not there to respond to the call instead of some other group. They’re basically reprimanding him.

The fact that they came 4,5 hours after Ralph was trying to call UK cops fits actual swatting/wellness check better than misplaced call theory. Unless it's normal for Mexican cops to take half a day to respond to a call.

I think that's why he quit so quickly after his little adventure. All that stress pushing on him combined with the cocktail of alcohol, benzos, weed and lord knows what else might have sapped the last of whatever energy he had. One of these days he's going to be on that shit and stroke out or something.

He didn't quit, he was KOd with substances. I hope he didn't swallow his stash when he realized cops were in the house. Would really suck to swallow a baggie of coke.

I made a transcript. I warn you, it's long af. Some is hard to make out because of the echo, some overlapping voices & quality but here's an approximation. I will put English dialogue in yellow to make it easier to read, if you're not interested in the Spanish.
Although I was raised speaking Spanish at home, it's my 2nd language. If any native Spanish speakers see errors, please correct me.

(The Woman speaks too fast at the start, can't make out what she says)

Man asks: "hay una m-persona lesionada aquí?" Sounded as if he was gonna say "mujer" (woman) to ask if there's anyone (is there someone) hurt here at the beginning. Then says "es una mujer?" (it's a woman?).

Woman: como si hubiera algo grave? (As if there were something wrong or (literally "grave") not the cemetery type lol in English, gravely hurt/injured)

Ethan: (in a stereotypical gringo accent) "Muchas gracias. Mi español es muy malo. I'm typing the n w/the tilde but idk it's not registering on screen Thank you. My Spanish is very bad/poor. I know it's scary...I-

Man: "(unintelligible)...lesionada persona. Que si no viene la policía, se va a matar él también." ...a hurt/injured person. That if the police don't come, he's going to kill himself also. (wtf?! Could also have said "lesionar a una persona" instead of "lesionada persona" which means hurt a person, obviously referring to something Ethan might have done)

Woman: (damn motor mouth, too fast to distinguish what she says)

Man: responds to what she said, "exacto." (Doubt you need translation for that)

Woman: "así es. Claro." (Can mean) it's like that or that's how it is. Of course (can also mean "clearly" or "clear" in other contexts)

Man: after a pause, idk why he says, "just kidding!" (Or was it a question?)

Ethan: just kidding? Is that what you said? *phlegm-y cackle*

Man: you don't have any problems?

Ethan: I don't have-I don't do anything...& if you wanted (want?) to do any(thing?) different just tell me...(overlaps w/the man)

Man: everything's good here?

Ethan: it's good.

Man: you sure?

Ethan: yes! You can look in my room!

Man: (can barely tell but i think he tells someone) "chécale ahí." Check (him or his shit) here. Note, "chécale or chéqueale" is Spanglish & slang from checar/chequear, "(to) check (something)"

Thanks for the suggestion @Shush, I went back & listened & it's hard to make out because of the man's accent & white noise but it does sound as if Ethan left the room & the cop stayed behind most likely w/Amanda.

This isn't surprising in a potential DV situation to separate the parties & question them separately or to give the suspected victim an opportunity to talk freely.

I agree w/Shush that he seems to be asking her if she/everything is ok. I also can't tell what he says besides the following:

Sounds like he says "(unintelligible)...over here? And safe? No (unintelligible mumbling, Ethan's voice in the distance & radio chatter) ... (I think he says) because..." (mumbling & radio chatter doesn't help)

It may be my ears playing tricks but I think I hear Amanda in a low voice answering "yes" or "sí" between "...over here?" & "and safe?" And again she gives a one word answer which very much sounds like "no" after he says "because..."

(Radio chatter starts & complicates shit. I can barely tell what the man on the radio is saying, some numbers 2, 5 & 6, (isn't Casa Verde's # 256?) then the Mexican equivalent of what our military & cops do when spelling something out, like "echo, lima, foxtrot, bravo" etc. but can't make it out)

Man: (answers, unintelligible. More radio chatter)

Man: asks unintelligible question

Woman: "sí...(unintelligible) ...tiene contrato." Yes (unintelligible)...has/have contract. (Can't tell if a question or statement. I assume it's about the living arrangement. I wonder if this woman is the babysitter.)

Ethan: well I was up here. I didn't hear...I just... (overlapping with Man) I'm just worried about... (unintelligible)

Woman: (unintelligible)

Man: you have a green card?

Ethan: yeah.

(Overlapping, can't distinguish) Man 2 asks Man a question, can't tell what.

Man: (answers Man 2) sí tomó pero (en?) la licencia, güey. (Unintelligible) esto si es (unintelligible)...ya no son green card, ahora son (unintelligible). He did drink/he did take (something?) but it's in the license, dude. (Unintelligible) this is (unintelligible)...they're not green cards anymore, now they're/it's...(unintelligible) (Doesn't make a lot of sense)
For the word "tomó" which means (he/she) took (the dog to the park, or took a Xanax lol) or drank. It's unclear if he meant "yes (Ethan) drank" or he "took (something/it like a substance or object)

Ethan: I'm gonna get it extended in October. (Unintelligible voices) You can only do it for 1 años (years, should've used the singular) at a time then you have to do 3 años. I have to- (Men overlap, Rozy coughs) Note: if the tilde over the n is still not showing up, the word ano/anos without the tilde instead means anus/anuses

Man 2?: but you still want (Rozy's coughs make it hard to make out what he says after) to stay here by 2 years? (Unintelligible)

Ethan: yeah, I'm planning on staying here a few years, yeah.

Man 2: what you do (are doing?) in Mérida?

He talks too fast & what he does say doesn't make sense w/o the missing context, & this gets complicated: ...the lady...because... (she/someone?) ...was going to go (or "they" were going to go) or "was going to" pass (could refer to letting someone in or pass by) if he/she (idk who as gender isn't implied in this case) isn't here, well they're... the person they're talking about, again, gender neutral. "Anda" from "andar" is present form of to be or is doing something. "Andan" is the plural. Could also be used as "walking or riding." Example: "Ethan anda en caballo" meaning Ethan is on a horse or is riding one. Lol. Anyway some meaning is lost in translation.

Now that that dude needs (will need?) people because (he) said that (he's) going to hurt a person. (What dude? He said he's gonna hurt someone or says another guy is going to? An iPhone ringtone keeps ringing. A woman, maybe Amanda, answers a call: Dad. (Hey, doesn't she own an iPhone?)

Ethan: so I can't-

Man: (unintelligible with overlapping voices) ...está muy temerosa (frustratingly unintelligible)...que vi algo. ...(she's) very fearful (unintelligible)...that I saw something.

Woman: (unintelligible)...(me puse?) nerviosa...ya (había?) pasado. (I got?) nervous...it (had?) passed.

Man 2 asks for Ethan's phone number (which he says is Mexican), asks man to not read it out loud because audience can hear.

Rozy babbles & Woman asks someone: está hablando con (él?). Ya quiere hablar. (she's) speaking with (him)? She wants to speak/talk (already).

Ethan: No problem? No- (Overlapping answers)

Woman: teléfono. (Overlapping) Phone.

Man: "...vamos para abajo? Let's go down(stairs). (Or we're going down)

Woman: sí. (Overlapping) yes.

Ethan: everything's...muy bien? (very good)

Man 2: ...we're going to leave now.

Ethan: you're gonna leave? Everything's good? I just-I uhh, it's scary you know. I just...(Overlapping) Thank you, thank you so much. I appreciate you. (Overlapping voices as they leave & he closes the door.)

It’s amazing that Ralph has been in Mexico for over seven months and doesn’t even know the most basic of Spanish. His attempt at even basic words is laughably bad. Spanish is one of the easiest to learn for an English speaker, far easier than French or German imo.

Most ppl are conversational within 90 days of full immersion, and basic study, in a non-English speaking country. I think this is true of most non-retards. I was having dreams in the other language by 90 days. Ralph can’t even communicate in single words. I was waiting for him to try out “no problemo”
