Do we really know if he is on the ground or did he crawl away to go get help or something? The last thing we see of him (like a fucking cryptid) is crawling away for a brief moment.

I don't know, without audio it's hard to tell if he crawled away completely or crawled trying to get up, then lost too much HP.
