Ethan is currently illuminating why 12 step programs dont recommend you have a relationship when you dont have a year of sobriety at the very least.

12 step programs also recommend you have an actual social life, hobbies, job etc.

He'll never remain sober because he has nothing else except looking at his computer.

Ralph should really try working the program. He probably hasn't heard about the 13th step but I think he'd be a prime candidate to take advantage of it.
