Piracy General

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The way cracks work is often an external library altering data in memory locations, or inserting instructions at runtime. That’s going to appear similar to a virus in heuristic scanners, and Microsoft have little reason to add an exception for fitgirl signed binaries, since they’re a game publisher themselves.

I tend to not like media servers like Jellyfin / Plex primarily because of internet connection use. With Kodi I can view all of my media offline and locally without using other resources. I've got my PC connected up to my TV in the living room primarily for this purpose.
It's not like you have to let jellyfin do it's online database lookups and subtitles searches, they're just features. I don't get what you mean, honestly. I'm running jellyfin media player and server completely fine on a single computer and can use my android tv box in the living room on top of that. Wasn't it for the meta data lookups, this would all be without "internet connection use". Does kody do meta data lookup? I mean even fucking windows media player can do it, I'm really struggling to understand what you meant.
How is kodi doing less better?

I have a media server on an RPi and Kodi on my Xbox to access it and it runs a python script to scan the media and add thumbnails. I used to use Plex but I ran into memory issues with transcoding or something and there's some log file that's full and it's Linux and there's better things to do in life than figure out what's wrong with something in Linux.

Ah, you were trying to transcode on a raspberry Pi. Ok I see what level of tech proficiency we're working with here.

I downloaded Dave the Diver anyways and my computer doesn't have Super AIDS, so I'll count that as a win for fitgirl I guess.
Real-life fitgirls might give you some dangerous STDs, but on the other hand I've never seen proof that the repacker dude sends out malware.

Personally it gives me the heebie-jeebies to download executables unless its an old videogame ROM I'll run in an emulator or is coming through a very credible package manager in addition to having source code available. It's paranoid, but as the IRA told Margaret Thatcher "you need to be lucky every time, we only need to be lucky once"yknow?

I just don't do anything important like my taxes or paying bills on the PC I play games on, and have a laptop with no extra bullshit on it for important life stuff.

Same here, it's part of why I held off on repackers for so long. Breathed the stupidest sigh of relief once a custom launcher popped up instead of a lot of dolphin porn. I still think I'll stick to most other sources first, but if I'm ever lost with one game in particular and haven't got any options besides torrents I guess fitgirl will be my guide.

I wish I could separate my gaming and work life but I haven't got the funds for that yet. It'll have to wait until I can spare enough for two PCs lol. For now I just stick to two separate user accounts (which at the very least helps separate the two states of mind).

There's 2 reasons people are scared of repacks/fitgirl:
1. They don't know what uncompressing files is (what the fitgirl installers do) so they get scared when they see the 100% cpu usage thinking it's a miner.
2. Fell for a fake website (not fitgirl's fault) and got actual malware.
They have a clean record as far as I know so I don't see a reason to ever be suspicious of their stuff.

Is there a way to download books from archive.org that are for borrowing only? The brute force method of screenshotting every page individually and pasting them all into a pdf is evident, but is there a more elegant and less time-consuming way to do it?

Have you tried ocean of pdf? Granted they watermark the .epub files

Are there are what.cd, Oink, what not replacements out there? I still use Soulseek to grab music stuff, but a lot of times, the quality of the rips is garbage. I really do miss what.cd, they had such a clean database of good quality album rips.

RIP what.cd
RED and OPS are both good.
OPS is easier to get in but RED has the variety that what.cd once had.

Why not just hit up libgen or find a torrent?
