TorrentFreak: Apple Revokes EU Distribution Rights for Torrent Client, Developer Left in the Dark (archive)
Under EU law, Apple is required to give its users more freedom to install apps that are not listed in the official App Store. This allows for easier access to software that's typically prohibited by Apple, including the popular iTorrent BitTorrent client. The iTorrent client built a steady user base over the past year, but that came to an abrupt end when Apple decided to revoke the developer's alternative distribution rights.

Can you disable system updates on Apple devices or do they just do whatever the hell they want? I'm afraid forced updates are becoming a thing. I believe my PC has been installing Windows updates in the last couple of months despite posponing them. Also, I had to use ADB to disable Android updates on my phone because it would show me a nag message with just two options: "install update" and "remind me in a week."

Yes but even if they at some point disabled that you could still stop it from updating just by letting the storage fill up so it doesn't have the space to update.

Article updated:
A day after publication, Apple informed us that the distribution rights (notarization) were revoked due to sanctions-related rules.

“Notarization for this app was removed in order to comply with government sanctions-related rules in various jurisdictions. We have communicated this to the developer,” Apple told us.

No further context was provided, but the developer purportedly had a Russian developer account, despite living in Malta.

I didn't find a thread for hard drives, so I guess I'll ask here:

I'm building my first RAID array to store media. Looking around it seems like everyone recommends buy refurbished Seagate exos drives. Anyone here have any experience buying them on ebay or other sites? There's a seller on ebay called serversurplus that seems to have the best deals on exos drives. Anyone use them?
I got the ones for NAS a year ago here:
I got a mix of Seagate and WD and setup a ZFS raid-Z2 for 2x drive failure protection (like raid 6). I scrub regularly and monitor the drive health (unlike a certain popular youtuber).
