Use something like WSL where ftp acts pretty much like in any command line Linux.

Yeah but I want to use a UI, such as explorer, to use it with. I want to be able to drag and drop things into FTP and it 'just-werks'. I know I can do mpv ftp://username:password@192.168.0.x/directory/file.mp4 to have a file play, but I'd have to look up what files I have first and their respective names. If I already have to do that, might as well have the ability to double click and play.

You can probably find a primitive ftp server for Android/Linux devices and then use a graphical client for ftp. Most of those for Windows are pretty primitive and ugly. Another option is probably scp. WinSCP is reasonably good, but there may be a better GUI by now.

Use syncthing. Native clients on Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, iOS. Set up a one-way share (your desktop/laptop sends the contents of a folder to the target, but changes made by/on the target don't come back; disable deletes on the target side so you can subsequently delete stuff from the source side without also nuking it from the target).

Then you have your drag-and-drop. It's just a regular old folder. Literally plop whatever into the it, wait for the transfer to finish (it'll use your phone's wifi -- you can sync over mobile data too but that's disabled by default because naturally that burns through data quotas fast), then there is no step three. The files just appear like magic on your phone.

I use it on my systems for an assortment of purposes, most usefully to keep a keepass database synced across devices (syncthing supports conflict resolution and versioning as well). Changes made on one host get synced to the others near-instantly, so conflicts don't happen anyway because I'm not fast enough to fuck it up :)

My go-to, yts.mx, is down. XPrime was down for a while earlier today thanks to the CloudFlare outage. Know of any other sites that are down?

I fucking love you, man. There are 2 movies with very generic one-word titles that are a pain to search for on most sites.
Always look for alternate domains and mirrors for pirate sites when they're down. There's another one whose name I can't recall that went through 5 different weirdo domains (.xyz etc.) in the last 2 years.

I used to frequent r/piracy for stuff like this, but Reddit has become an absolute hellhole and I've given up on it entirely. Still fairly new to piracy/torrenting and y'all are infinitely more helpful and less hostile.

Do they still compress audio to 128kbps to save 10MB in the year 2025?
I'm not sure .rs is an official YTS proxy, it isn't listed on https://ytsproxies.com. I've been using https://yts.lt.

I wish plebs would actually start "voting with their wallets" because every time someone's complaining about new restrictions and other nuisances that make their life worse, they're all talk.
Came back here to say, Sims 4 Community is just like that.

These days, they'll just say "read the megathread" and the mods would remove your post from the sub. I used to kinda like some parts of Reddit, but now it's just constant anger at everyone.
To be fair, I stopped using /r/roms because 99% of posts were just some variation of, "How use rom?" or "Where get rom?" or "What is CHD?".

Why are people so utterly incapable of just ignoring posts that don't interest them?
Imagine if this thread were 99% posts like that. Would you want to post in it?

If 99% of the subreddit is those posts and I don't go there anymore, ignoring posts that don't interest me is exactly what I am doing, is it not?

Users here aren't quite as stupid as redditors [apply rainbow stickers here] except in the Thunderdome. Also, it's possible to ignore specific threads or boards rather than just avoiding an entire site. Not that reddit doesn't have plenty of other reasons to ignore it.

Not you specifically. People in general. Also, reddit has a downvote feature that actually hides junk after a low enough negative score, does it not?

I think you're probably underestimating how overrun some of these subreddits got. A lot of the piracy and roms subreddits get so overrun with questions like, "Will downloading Pokemon Blue on Vimm's Lair give me a virus?" they became unusable.

That's not to say I'm defending the regulars and mods on a lot of these subreddits. I noticed before that many regular /r/piracy users recommend against some torrent sites because they have misleading ads that lead to malware, indicating that they don't have any kind of adblocker installed. That shows you how deep the brain trust is on a lot of these subreddits.
